BTA were so awesome early on. They're still good but so many personnel changes that it's affected the sound too much. Bleh.

There isn't one original band member now is there?
I agree too, they have changed quite a lot even since their first but I must admit I quite like I AM...looking forward to a new album with their current vocalist *ahem* hurry up it's been a couple years now..surely their writing new material at least.

Last I remember the drummer was the only original member, though that was over a year ago.
All of their albums have some merit, though I do prefer their older stuff. Funny how some people view them as metalcore while others DM and others still something else.

I also read recently where one of the members of My Dying Bride were talking up Virgin Black in a magazine. Saying they should be much bigger. Too bad they have disappeared without even finishing the trilogy. What is it with these goth style bands promising trilogies then disappearing? Sheesh.

Nah, they've been through a few drummers. I remember their original drummer left after Terminate Damnation and I was shattered because I love the drumming in that album, the only remaining member is Seth, one of the guitarists...according to wikipedia.

Terminate Damnation is by far their best album. None of their other stuff is just hard as this one. The breakdowns on this album are SICK!

The first time I heard the terminate damnation album I was like, yessssssssss thats the sound im looking for. I like the physics of fire, but it got kind of annoying how all the clean vocals only talk about fire. I thought dichotomy was an all around good album(not as good as terminate though). I have nothing good to say about the celestial completion. I am is good, I kind of like the direction they are going with that album. I do kind of miss jason wisdom, but the knew vocalist is still really good.

As for original members, they don't have any from their formation but if you count original members from their first album seth hecox is the only one left.

I just found these guys a couple months ago. I don't know how many times I have listened to this album, it is definitely one of my all time favorites.

I saw them do a CD release gig for Celestial Completion and the only original member at the show was the drummer haha. I think one or two were already gone and the vocalist had a last minute emergency. Good thing I saw the. Years earlier with Demon Hunter as the old band.

This is the only song i could find on YT of the pre-BTA version when they were The Remnant. It's acoustic, but easy to recognize parts of it from their full release.

new album from Vials of Wrath (symphonic unblack worship) coming soon -- here's an unmastered track from it he posted not long ago. really excellent stuff, IMHO

Vials of Wrath | A Cleansing Prayer (demo)

lyrics:

I long to be where no shadows dwell
All darkness is vanquished
And my spirit is well
At this summit of stone and oak that impales
Transfixing my mind upon self, upon self
My purpose
My pain
My loss
My gain
Ne'er more than what is today
Purge me, Adonai, of desire and lust
Less of me, more of thee
May all my glory be thine
Empty me of self, of self

Who is He? Who is He?

Who can save us?
Jesus Christ the Son of God
Call upon his name!

Call upon his name!
Call upon his name!
