I saw a tiny mouse in the stairwell entrance to my building tonight. It must have been quite young; the body was maybe just over an inch. It was running around in the stairwell and frantically trying to ascend the stairs. It settled down quite a bit when I just stood still, and then I had the pleasure of studying it. It escaped into the building when I opened the door. It wasn't my fault! It had run under the door already, yep, into a tiny space that I could barely see under the door, and then when I opened the door it scooted right in. It had likely come from the building in the first place. Ground floor renos are happening :p

While I was calmly surveying the situation, and studying the little critter quite up close, some guy I had never seen before appeared at the top of the stairs and froze in place when I told him there was a mouse. I ended up in the elevator with him a few minutes later, after informing the building manager that a mouse had just entered the building. He told me that he hated mice. Hmmm. Hate is such a strong word. I did not question him :) The fear and loathing were quite evident.
