I posted at least 4 bible verses earlier in this thread bearing proof of pets and animals having eternal life? If this does not pertain to heaven eternally, then where? Also where are the scriptures stating there will be no pets in heaven?

I put this in the wrong spot, responding to the wrong post, sorry, I'm tired.
If Jesus is the lion of Judah, does that mean He is an actual physical lion with fur and mane? No, He is LIKE a lion, and in some ways He is like a lamb. If this was literal He would be a mixture of a lamb and a lion, covered with eyes front and back. And if we are actual sheep of His, I'm missing a tail. When revelation spoke of animals they weren't actual animals, the were like animals.
I think there will be animals in the new Earth. Maybe not pets, but certainly, the Bible says the lion will lie down with the lamb, and the leopard with the baby goat, so there have to be animals. (Isa. 11:6)

My pastor recently did I series of sermons on Heaven, and one entire sermon was about how there will not be animals or pets in Heaven. Even though it was a very nice service, I can't say that I agree with him. I have done my own studying on it lately and the more I read certain passages of the Bible, the more I disagree with the idea of having no animals in Heaven.
I'm just wondering what any of you think about this topic, and what passages give you those views.

Animals do not have eternal spirits like humans have...thus, they do not have eternal life.
We won't even remember our pets when we die.
All that matters is being with our Creator.

I believe the new heaven is new because God Himself will dwell directly with man, never to be separated from Him again. So do you think we will fly back and forth from the new earth to the new heaven? Isn't that a partial separate dwelling from God? I believe the new earth is hell, and that neither the new heaven or the new earth will be physical. God's children will have new spiritual bodies. Never again will they hunger and thirst or grow old because they won't have physical bodies that hunger and thirst.

What supports all physical life on earth? Water. The sea. Revelation 21:1 says when he saw the new heaven and the new earth there was no longer any sea. So if you take the Christians from the earth, and you take away water, and you take away physicality, and separate it from God (God dwells in heaven, not on earth) then what do you have left? Hell.

Micah 4 talks about what's to come. God makes a covenant with the animals and ceases the violence, that all may lie down safely, and the earth responds with grain, wine, and oil.
Isaiah 11 says on the matter:
6The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling[SUP]a[/SUP] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8The infant will play near the cobra’s den,
and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest.
9They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
All creation was impacted by man’s fall, and so all creation will be impacted by redemption. On His way into Jerusalem, Jesus said that if He commanded the people to be quiet the rocks would cry out (Luke 19:39-40). And Paul tells us all creation groans for redemption (Rom 8:22). And all creation shall have it under Christ’s rule.
Will they be pets? Pets are domesticated animals that otherwise now wouldn't have anything to do with us. Since we will be at peace with all the animals, I don't think the concept of a 'pet' would apply.

No one can really say for sure whether or not your pets will be in Heaven and/or on the New Earth.
Well, the Scriptures say that all life has a soul (Job 12:10 KJV) and that animals will go to Heaven (Romans 8:19, 20,21,22) (Pay close attention to verse 21).

No, you're right. When the Bible says that Jesus is the Lion of Judah, it doesn't mean that He's a lion. But context of those verses/passages shows the examples you've given have different understandings. We're not sheep, we're like sheep. But the lion lying down with the lamb, that's very physical. There's no need to allegorise verses/passages that weren't designed with allegory etc. in mind.

Great topic, though a bit harsh by some. Of course, God loves you and His animals. Yes, there will be animals. Real, live animals. And oh yeah, Jesus ate fish and other things After the resurrection, though I dont think we'll be killing fish in His kingdom, but there'll be plenty to eat. Dont forget how big and powerful our God is. He SPOKE! And the universe leaped into existence. There is nothing too hard for Him. If He sees a specific need for a specific you He can do it for you, and dont let anyone tell you He cant. Fix your eyes upon Jesus. See what great love, what He went through to redeem us. You won't be save now but disappointed in eternity. He came that we would have life, and more, abundantly ( my punctuation, but you get my point). He's a GOOD God, a LOVING God, a MERCIFUL, WONDERFUL SAVIOUR, and you are loved with an everlasting love, and underneath are the outstretched, everlasting arms (bless you elisabethelliot). Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Keep the faith and God bless you for loving His pets, too.

Wow. That's certainly an interesting take on what the Bible says. The New Heaven and the New Earth will be one location, not two separate locations. We will be living with God in pure, loving relationship forever. Nothing will separate us from Him. The New Heaven and the New Earth will absolutely physical and the New Earth won't be Hell. That's messed up. We need to take our ideas of the afterlife from the Bible, not from The Divine Comedy or other such books or media. The Bible teaches that we will have physical glorified bodies in the New Heaven and the New Earth and that we don't hunger or thirst or grow old or sick. What you're proposing is more Gnostic than anything.

No. Please read those verses in context. That's not what the Bible says at all. Even if the New Heavens and New Earth won't have a sea, it will have other bodies of water - lakes, rivers, streams etc. No water is a huge departure from the text and the rest of what you said is even more outlandish speculation. I suggest reading Randy Alcorn's non-fiction study "Heaven" to get a better understanding about what the Bible really teaches about Heaven.

People miss heaven because of their rebellion against God's offer of love, by rejecting Jesus. But dogs, which have no ability to sin nor moral conscience, do not have an ability to reject Jesus.
It is the same principle as a baby, young child or mentally challenged individual. The Bible calls them "safe," not "saved." In Proverbs we read, "The Lord preserves the simple," which includes persons without the ability, capacity or moral conscience to reject Jesus."
We know that there will be animals in heaven, but no longer carnivores (Isaiah 65:25 & Isaiah 11:6-9). The bible doesn't give a definitive answer on whether the souls of pets are resurrected because scripture is geared towards human salvation. Unlike humans, animals can't choose between good and evil, and since they aren't inherently evil, no redemption is necessary.
My dog is nonjudgmental, patient, understanding, and loves unconditionally, so I personally think she's more worthy of heaven than I am

Heaven isn't the final destination for the redeemed. Jesus taught us to pray, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Ultimately, there will be a new heavens and a new earth and a new Jerusalem as well. As some people here have already shown, animals will most definitely be a part of the same.
