Bread proofing, getting stuff ready to go.

I did not sleep last night and I don't know why. Sometimes I get over-tired and I can't get back into a good sleeping rhythm.

I am so blessed. I am so very blessed that this is my life. God is so good to me and allows me time and space to bless others. It's kinda awesome!

I slept extra perfect the last 2 nights and forgot why.....

I always sleep well, but until a few minutes ago I forgot that I just bought some calm from nosnaws(backwards for legal reasons) online, and took a couple teaspoonfuls through the day the last 2 days.

everyone who takes a teaspoonful rests better. everyone(almost a hundred i know in person) the last 20 years who has taken it exclaimed "I got a better night's sleep last night than I have in ten or twenty years!" (and it is always repeated, so far, without any exceptions, every time.)

Some of you know that I received a cornea transplant about four months ago. It has been part of a long history with dealing with my vision and transplants over the last twenty years.

Today I received a notice from the organization that coordinated my cornea transplant that they had a program where the donor recipient and the donor family can communicate. Basically I can send his/her family a letter. Honestly, the thought is somewhat overwhelming. I have never had this opportunity with past transplants.

Wow, Hoss... what an amazing... and sobering chance...

I'm so glad you had a successful transplant. Please, if you decide to contact your donor's family, let us know how it goes.

I know this is a bit different but years ago I signed up to donate bone marrow, but was never matched with a recipient. I am also signed up for organ donation if something should happen. I'd want a recipient to feel free to contact my family if they wished, but that's just me. Very personal decision, of course.

Thank you for sharing this!

Mocha went to the vet, and had a biopsy done on a lump that he has on his side. Thankfully it was just a fatty tumor. I'm beyond relieved.

I'm gonna have the house to myself this evening. Woo. Before that I'm gonna try to have someone take me on a decaf iced coffee run. I can't have caffeine right now because it has such adverse effects on me right now, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna quit coffee itself.

I accidentally got a caffeinated coffee. So far I haven't had much of it and I seem to be doing okay. But I doubt it will set me up for a good night's sleep

Trolled the BDF. I'm not proud of it, and I'm not not proud of it.

Countdown to the 3-day weekend: 5-4-3-2-1...

Telling your fellow brother or sister in Christ that they're okay in whatever sin they're doing is dangerous, and you are doing a disservice to Jesus and what He did on the cross.

That's all I have for today's thoughts on God and sin. Maybe it's a bit harsh, but I'd take it up with God first before you took it up with me.

I donated my husband - whatever was needed and could be used. (wow, this sounds so creepy to write). I know his corneas were donated, I don't know anything beyond that. IF you feel comfortable, communicate. It is by NO means necessary and I don't know how I'd feel about getting a note. Personally, I was just glad that someone could have a hopefully better and easier life because of what was given.

Interesting work week - for those who don't know, I work with developmentally disabled adults

I had two young men today who are normally not on my caseload anymore. When they were, they were a handful - I used to joke that working with them was like herding cats, and that's how I got my name here. It was fun working with them, but at one point, one (who is rather volatile) got mad at the other and began yelling throughout the restaurant - okay, it was a Wendy's, but still. Anyway, I was able to redirect him, and we left shortly after that. I'm glad the situation didn't escalate - I wasn't in the mood to fill out a special incident report (SIR) right before a three day weekend! - yep, thinking about me!

A fun conversation with the person I supported yesterday, who is excited about moving into a supported living situation:

him: I can have all the parties I want!
me: We can help with a housewarming party, but not a party lifestyle...
him: what's a housewarming party?
me: (explains the concept) ...and people may bring items for your new place, but really it's about opening your home to your friends.
him: I want a girl to jump out of a cake!
me: That's a different kind of party.
