Not everyone.......My sister laughed when she broke her elbow.....
I have had some intense physical pain, but it has never seemed as bad to me as emotional. I am just weird though....When I had a bone marrow biopsy, I laughed through the entire thing...it tickled and most people say it hurts. So I think the emotional/physical pain question depends on the person.
i tend to agree.

ya little weirdo. :)

nosy mum types. (sorry)

again, real life, or this place? ♥
This is real life. But my offline life, yes. Broken relationships (marriages, friendships). I and others are caught in the middle, between three or more parties that used to be exceptional friends before the shitake mushrooms hit the fan. Some believe we're taking sides and have cut us off. All we're doing is trying to support those we can and pray for everyone. God, it's messy. I can't do this. I just can't.

you would have to!

pruning shears, indeed. :p
The thing about it I was at work when I did it. (Poor gal that was working there turned green then she saw all the blood and I was just holding my arm straight up to slow the bleeding done) I had cut it clear across my finger (Just duct tape or staple it to hold it, it will be fine.) Never had to take even an aspirin for it. :p

People disconnecting because of their own pain is so hard to understand.... when you yourself are dealing with the loss of the relationship as it was. I think I feel you bro. Brokenness where there once was love is a tough thing to deal with.

we went to a home church for years...elders, no pastor.

one of the elders developed a chronic pain condition, and became (psychologically) addicted to the meds.
his wife left him. so, as per Scripture, most of us wanted him to step down till the whole thing was resolved. but not all of us.... :(

it was such a mess! the church dissolved over it.
going to sign out and pray for you. ♥

good night, everyone.

Will pray for you Brother Tintin...........one of the sad realities of this earthly life is that a caring and tender heart is the one most often broken..............God bless and keep you and guide you through these times.

Is physical hurt better, worse, or comparable to mental or emotional anguish?
Not talking about, "dang I missed the ice cream man"..but real distress.
I have experienced them all, have you and what was hardest for you to deal with?
When I am in mental anguish, it seems like the worst pain. But when I am physically hurting, the mental anguish seems like nothing.

I think I prefer mental anguish, because there is always the possiblity of changing your thoughts, recovering. Physical pain is deblitating mentally and physically. The last 4 months have been some of the worst for physical pain in my life. I sincerely just want for it to end, but that is not going to happen until I see Jesus face to face.

Personally, I would just be happy if I only had one or two physical problems to cope with. These days, the flesh is very weak.

Sorry you are suffering right now Phil. Just remember, it will heal - but it will take time and you will not be the same person you were.

Thank you, guys. Thank you, mum.
It seems God has made me, someone who's not a natural-born leader, co-lead/micro-manage support for my friends involved in the fallout. And there are a lot of friends involved in this. And then there's friends taking pot-shots at us, believing we're taking sides and gossiping. In truth, we've been praying so hard for each other, for everyone, for God's truth to be revealed.

And herein lies your answer. There are some things in life that require us to step back and/or walk away for a while. We do what our hearts instruct us to do .. that which we know is right and with good intentions .. and let the chips fall where they may (for the time being). Pleasing everybody is a sure recipe for disaster and heartache. If possible Tintin, remove yourself from the situation for the time being. The dirtiest of messes eventually clean themselves. Praying for you my brother.

Well, for me I can tolerate pain in any sense of the word. However, tolerate is the operative word because it is a struggle to comprehend it because I don't believe I deserved any type of pain whether physical or mental/emotional pain. In truth, I think mental/emotional pain cuts deeper because the person that hurt you knows how to have it really hurt in ways you just can't imagine. I have been told that I am worthless, never amount to anything, and I was also called stupid. All these words came from a family member and I did forgive them, but I would never forget them.
