My Christian son was saying just last week how he wished women wouldn't wear things that were immodest because it's a deliberate attempt to distract men. He said the sad thing is, Christian women might be tempted to try to live up to that "sexy" image or think they have to compete with worldly women.

To me it's outright warfare. The devil wants to ruin our testimony. If he can get women to believe their worth is in their physical attributes and can get men to lust after them, the battle is on. It would be pretty difficult to share the gospel if you're dressed like an advertisement for lust. I think as the family of God we need to help and encourage one another to keep our minds focused on what glorifies Jesus Christ.

Why do you tempt God? Did you "google" that because He would have wanted you to? Astounding..................
I certainly was not expecting that! I don't go to beaches much; and thought I could comment more reasonably if I had some awareness of what I was talking about. I was expecting 2 piece bathing suits that at least covered as much as most under garments. I was certainly not expecting something that looked like 5 loops of kite string.

I Googled 'bikini' and found something called a 'peek-a-boo string bikini'. that went well beyond immodest; but it did NOT cause me to want to be unfaithful to my wife. My wife would NEVER wear anything like that; nor would I want her to.

I have to admit, I myself thought it strange that you would Google "bikini" to see what it was. After all, you're 75 yrs old, I would assume you know what one is. It kind of reminds me of the ol' stories you hear about men and women who want to pray against pornography so visit X-rated movie houses to see what they're praying against. Ya know? :p

I know what bikinis looked like 10 years ago; and I considered some but not all of them immodest at that time.

I had no idea what passed for a bikini now; and thought that if I were going to comment I should know whether my answer had changed in ten years. It certainly has!

why many christian women wear it as it sexually attract the attention of the other men as women mean is to secure herself from other men eyes so they may not be able to think about about their naked legs.

I have not an inkling of an idea what you're talking about. I am NOT stating that what you're implying is incorrect. I just mean, I have not an inkling of an idea what you're talking about.

Marc, you go to town every once in awhile, I assume? You surely don't think that women wear more clothes at the beach than they do at walmart?
It is entirely logical to believe that if they dress like that going to the store they wear even more revealing clothes at the beach. Friend, that explanation sounds kind of hollow, if you'll forgive me for saying so.

if you repent, you might be forgiven. same for the others who impuned marc without any good cause, just with something not right in themselves.

marc was good and right hearted in his seeking the truth, including searching online for what "passes for" a bikini today. a lot of people over 50 years old would be completely shocked and distraught and dismayed
to see what goes to the beaches, and what goes on at the beaches sometimes,
it
is
so wicked and so far even from the less wicked evil ten and twenty and fifty years ago.

Hold up... Let me get this straight:

1. You are defending Marc because you judge that he has no wrong motive in his heart for checking out bikini-clad women online. (Or in Marc's words, "a peek-a-boo string bikini".)

2. But you judge Phil and "others" who question Marc's checking out bikini-clad women online.

3. You judge, "Marc was good and right hearted in his seeking the truth" in checking out bikini-clad women online.

4. But Phil you judge as "without any good cause, just with something not right in themselves" because he doesn't condone checking out bikini-clad women online.

What can we assume then? That to you it's "good and right hearted" to check out bikini-clad women online as long as it's in search of the truth?

What truth is that, may I ask?

I am wondering what you think about this I know many Christian women wear them.
when people started wearing cloths, is when ones mind became perverted.

After living in San Francisco for more than 40 years; I have the impression that most women here in Oregon dress very modestly. I guess that you probably have a different frame of reference.

Dude, you make no sense. Remember, according to your previous posts you say there is no beginning or end. "Started wearing cloths (I'm assuming you meant CLOTHES)" means that there evidently was a beginning of something.

All I can express is though I'm a woman...and this is about bikinis. If I was in love with a man I wouldn't stare at anyone BUT him on a beach....unless of course jellyfish jumped out of the water...and sang Waltzing Matilda...then I might look at something besides my true love...briefly but still!

If you going to quote me from another post plz quote me correctly. I said "I have no beginning or ending"

Now back to this post pertaining to the topic of bikinis. When people started wearing clothes is when ones mind became perverted. Its only perspective

In Marc's defense, if he were seeking out a lie, in checking out bikini-clad women online, that would be two strikes. The road of sanctification has its potholes, you know. And I once wondered who this Lady Gaga is and looked her up, had no idea what I'd find, mercy!

Perhaps Marc doesn't have a TV and never, ever saw what a modern bikini looks like... I guess we didn't think of that, Phil. Or maybe he never goes into the mall ~ or he has not been on a beach in about five decades ~ or he's never seen billboards or magazines or newspaper ads with bikini-clad women brandished on them.

Perhaps by some miracle Marc doesn't get tempted by all the indecent images in this world that most Christian men struggle to avoid.

I'd be extremely interested in a poll asking all the Christian men on this site what they think. I'd be especially interested in hearing from the godly men who wisely counsel men addicted to porn.

If I was on a beach I would keep my eyes on the prize and that would be my wife. You wrote an amusing post and I am in agreement with you.
