mw,

This sort of communication is a challenge. Online.

We all get frustrated. All of us post things that 'sound' insulting, when in fact some of them are nothing more than frustration with this mode or form of communication.

For example,

There is a post in this thread that pinpoints the issue. It is what the discussion should be focused on. I do not recall any questionable remarks or possible insults.

Has that post been answered? No.

That alone is frustrating.

I've called attention to it. Still unanswered.

You and I disagree on many doctrines and practices. But until the issue of history and tradition is addressed, there's little reason to expect someone to change their opinion or beliefs.

The post is 4416. Would you consider answering it?

If you are referring to Apostolic succession, Yes, i believe it from St. Peter all the way to the current Francis. Dont know how that clears it up for you because im fixin to get insulted again for that statement

as i said before i am done with this. The insults against me and the Church are to much. I have been taught that when the insults start, logic has left the room. I am deeply offended and if this is your version of Christianity, you can have it
Suppose there's a more focused approach?

Far too many posts at CC contain unnecessary statements.

Would you consider further discussion?

Okay. I am going to go back and read your response to my question as to why you believe Bible is inspired. Then I will follow up.

I will choose my words carefully.

If someone hurls an insult, I'll assist in taking care of it. But I don't think you will be insulted.

I need to be signing off. Will address later. Sorry, but I was ending as I checked this thread. It was my last stop before finishing.

Thank you for your patience.

He has already said no to God in his heart. Further discussion will produce what exactly? Is it not clear that the pope is his god?

Firstly there is no reliable succession from whoever was first bishop of Rome up to 325 AD. But the letters of Clement and Ignatius do both demonstrate that there was no single bishop of Rome in the time when both those wrote otherwise they would have referred to the fact.

Furthermore Tertullian says of bishops of Rome after 150 AD that they 'presided in the region of the Romans'. He clearly did not see the bishop of Rome as having extensive authority.

In the early letters 'apostolic succession' referred to all churches which had been established by an Apostle. It was a device which attempted to gain the authority of the Apostles for the bishops in question. There is no suggestion that Rome was unique. There is no suggestion that that succession proved that they were especially illuminated by God. And indeed Clement of Alexandria and Origen were both Gnostics, and yet were in the 'Apostolic succession'. Even the Roman Catholic church rejected Origen which is why he never became a saint.

Thus your belief is based on church dogmatism not on evidence from the early church.

yes, that's what citizens or children of the devil do every day also.

(i.e. your life doesn't match your words) (yahweh's spirit bears witness against you)

Wow

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Jesus? He's never wrong. He doesn't take any pleasure in the death of the wicked or the righteous, so
He must want you to come to HIM.
Whenever He speaks harshly/ critically to someone, it is from ABBA, and HE would rather you be healed.

What about the guy that continues to ... insult me? He must be a saint

mwc68 = Done, yall are crazy. I will pray for yall
I agree that no one likes to be misquoted but neither would I agree with indirectly telling someone to go to Hell. Rotten fruits do not encourage others in wanting to listen to someone's side of the story.

However, there are other people beside the one misquoting you who are reading your posts. I consider myself a spirit filled Christian and I don't even take everything Jeff_56 (sorry Jeff) says too serious. I think you, mwc68, just ran into a tangle of conversation there that was meant to trip you up. It's not you here and all the rest of us posting over there. There are many different types of people on this board. Please don't lump us altogether.

You were very adamant that you would not be converted. God is not interested in your denomination only that you should come to a genuine saving knowledge of His dear Son Christ.

God is trying to get your attention. Time to pick up the phone before God hangs up and moves on. Today is the day of salvation.

Show me where you have been misquoted.

for and about "my FATHER'S HOUSE".... not with any selfish thought or motive...

many spoke against the son of man, and he opened not his mouth....

same with his children - they don't take offense for things said against themselves....
