I'm really awful at sticking to schedules, but I need some kind of structure in my days- and so do my kids. The "free spirited" part of me is cringing right now at the very word 'structure', but the little tiny rational and logical part of me is jumping for joy. Just doing whatever we Feel like doing all day is getting awfully dull. Maybe there's a bit of lingering depression, maybe that's why these sunshiney days aren't looking like the golden opportunities they used to.

My head feels full of cobwebs and dust, and if I can just air it out, I'll feel so much better.

In theory.

Here's hoping.
MissCris, sometimes you say the most insightful things. It seems you identify a root cause for a behavior and then make it seem like the solution evades you. I guess that's akin to missing the forrest for the trees, but in your case, you know you're in the forrest. Does that make sense?

I think what i'm trying to say is that there IS structure in free-spiritness - true free-soiritness. Without structure you're just a deadbeat and you're anything but that. What I think you're cringing at is c-c-c-confromity. All the grey suits and red ties marching in single file and in perfect cadence to spiritual failure. Free spirits run with the meek and follow dreams down rabbit holes. What can seem like ramblings are perfect pathways. However, and as you have said before, the chase is all you got. The conquest is never reached. Such is the life of the free spirit.

I think that's why these spirits gather so much at the well of Christ.

Okay that cold was awful. So awful. I'm feeling normal again. No more fatigue, headache, or sore throat. Just some very minor congestion. Praise. The. LORD. I wasn't sure how much longer I was going to be able to put up with that. I was at the point if I wasn't feeling better today I was going to call someone about it and get an appointment made.

I literally just spent 8 days in bed with migraines. I have a migraine every day to begin with; it is now my standard day. But eight days has been my longest stretch yet. My insurance only covers nine Imitrex a month. Yep. NINE. So, I rely on OTC meds and carefully moderated Vicodin. But even the Vicodin doesn't work all that well. I have good days (like today), and I have really horrible days like Sunday (three migraines).

I've done a lot of things to help alleviate the pain. I've cut about 5 inches off my hair, ice packs, heating pads, salon pas, vitamins, I don't pull my hair back or up, I'm looking for food triggers, stress triggers, etc.

I'm not entirely sure why I'm posting this. I'm not really part of this community any more, but at least you all know why I disappeared. Please pray for me. I'll lurk here and there. I may even contribute.

Will pray for you Duchess Aimee. Sounds pretty awful to have to live with that. Migraines are horrible.

Aimee!

We are excited to see you back! Am very sorry to hear about all your medical troubles :( but we hope you'll stop in more often.

I've had a couple of migraines in the past that were extreme enough to make me toss my cookies... I can't imagine having to try to cope with that every day, several times a day... We will definitely pray for you!!

Hi Aimee. Nice to meet you. :)

That's a lot of wisdom you just shared on combating migraines. Thanks. I have a few at times but nothing like what you've having to deal with. I can tell it's extreme if you're cutting your hair to relieve pressure. Nuuu, my precious hair! Stress is probably a give but I think you might have something there with food triggers.

pausing to lift you in prayer

This is so awful... Your strength amazes me Aimee. I'm praying for you to have some relief, and to be able to pinpoint any triggers that are making these flare up. We miss you here.

Sorry to hear it's so crappy though :(

Will pray

That's horrible, Aimee. Have you considered botox? Its known to be a cure for migraines, like permanently.

wut??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Botox is a neurotoxin that, if I remember correctly, was being used for medical purposes long before they started using it to freeze one's face into place forever.

Zero can correct me on this but I believe it works by killing/freezing nerves, including those that cause pain... and those that cause wrinkles.

I would never get botox or any form of plastic surgery.

Oh. I am so sorry. I have actually had a bad migraine the last three days. I was diagnosed with them when I was little and I have tried almost everything to help even to stop the triggers. I really feel for you because right now my head is spinning and I can't think, I am dizzy, nauseous, and I even pass out. I will be praying for you that God will heal you from these migraines.

Lord Jesus, I lift I Aimee to you in healing of her migraines that she begins to feel pressure being released in her head and body as you take your holy hands and touch her. I declare healing over her body and the peace of you healing spirit to surround in Jesus Name, Amen.

You're right, its a neurotoxin. It kills the nerves. The side effect is that you can no longer tense up those muscles in your brow that were affected, but this actually prevents and alleviates wrinkles. The crazy part is that the toxin is the same as the one found in bochelism (think lethal food poisoning). That's where it gets its name.. bo - tox.

I think a lot of people confuse botox with collagen. Both are for wrinkles, but botox is not a filler like collagen. Woman mainly use collagen injections to make their lips fuller. Botox is for migraines and facial wrinkles.

I love schedules and structure. I'll make a schedule for you:

Morning:

Get up, get kids up
Eat breakfast
Get dressed
Do something fun and crazy for the rest of the morning

Afternoon:
Lunch
Go on an adventure (maybe even an educational one)
Cook dinner

Evening:
Dinner
Get kids ready for bed and in bed
Quality time as a couple
Sleep

Hopefully that isn't too restrictive :p but since I'm the person who has to schedule in fun and rest time, well I fully advocate blocking that kind of time out on your schedule (speaking of which I forgot to schedule in God time for you, maybe before you get the kids up).
