Indeed! Who can forget Ella and "A tiskit, a taskit, a little yellow basket"?

my parents instilled in us quite an eclectic taste in music.

our two youngest daughters (20 and 22) asked for Ella,

on mp3, whatever that is.

(hush, Mikey---i know what it is, i merely choose to ignore it. ;) )

My Mother loved Ella Fitzgerald. Use to listen to her all the time. Did you ever listen to the Mills Brother's?

Back again. Sometimes there's just no respect around here for Grandpa's nap. When my son wants something, he sends my youngest grandson over. He knows I'll get it for my grandson. I'll just grunt at my son and pretend I'm still asleep. He knows where I keep everything, he can get it for himself.

is it possible my dad had a dozen of their albums?

i especially remember "
Reveille with Beverly".

catchy title....and i learned to spell reveille. :)

Folks don't speak ill of Elvis around here. That's a lynching offense. Most of them believe that he is still alive.

By the way, who was the composer in that pic? I did not recognize the score but thought it was quite lovely. Bring a tear to a glass eye.

lol.. personally I believe 100% that MJ is dead..even though several thousand of his fans believe he faked his death..I just saw Elvis at the corner cafe down the street, so he's still alive and kickin'... :o But Marlon Brando DID give MJ his island, so ya never know.. ;)

One of my all-time fav song writers and performers. Some of the younger folks here may not have ever heard of her ... but she was brilliant ... even when performing live :) This thread .... "The comfort of a few old friends long past their prime". :)
