Thank you all for the many wishes of a happy birthday. I had to spend my birthday at work but it wasn't all that bad a day. Kind of slow today actually.
Blond pops in to wish you a Happy Birthday and enjoy the cake......

Wow... I've been here for a while.
Nobody would know from my current join date though, it's wrong. I was on here before under a different username, but I couldn't recover my password, so I made a new account... Now my join date is wrong, and the rep points I had are gone.
I just realized how many of my friends on here are gone now too :(
I miss MrHonest and SnackersMom, and a whole bunch of others.
I'm never in the chat rooms anymore, so a lot of them probably don't remember me, and there's probably a slew of new people I've never met in there now.
Now I feel awkward.

That's life in the fast lane. Every chatroom I've ever seen, if you pop out for a few months it's a whole new crowd when you pop back in. Maybe the admin and a couple mods will be the same... maybe.

I've been here for 5 years now...that's weird to think about. I was 13 when I joined. So, for those who have been here the whole 5 years...you've pretty much seen me grow up. o_O Whaaaaa

To think back 5 years...wow. So much has gone on these past 5 years...

Indeed tis why it's referred to as streaming online. Just keeps going and going. I was here originally 12 year ago then left for a bit, then came back under a new name. People kept thinking I was a guy! I guess my name was confusing. Now we have the blue and pink names to differentiate. That's a nice upgrade. Didn't have all he forums back then either. Just mainly chat and pm. Mostly fond memories of CC and those days. Just as fun now though. Especially crazy singles forum. :)

Yesterday I was talking to a friend who's Son is a drug addict, she posted bail for him and put him in rehab. My first thought was, yikes. Then I had this voice pop in my head, you don't know what you'd do if it was your child and God is right, what do I know about this? My Son's 9, I haven't dealt with anything like this in my life. She told me that some of her friends have been on her back about bailing him out. He's going to rehab out of the state for probably a year. I'm just going to pray for her and him and try to be supportive.

Like they say... everybody knows what to do with a kicking mule - until he has one of his own. I have no idea how I'd deal with a son who was on drugs. I'm 37 and don't even have a girlfriend so I'm not likely to find out either. Lots of things that it would be easy for me to give advice on, and the advice would probably be totally wrong because I've never been there.

As a result of a conversation at work I ran a search through my music collection for "sing" and "song." There are 127 songs that talk about singing and songs. That's out of a collection of about 8,000 christian songs of all different kinds and styles.

That seems a bit much for self-referentialism...

Okay it's more like 114. I ran another search for both "song" and "sing" to make sure I wasn't counting a few songs twice when they had both words in the title. There were a few.

It's your birthday, you silly cat. You shouldn't be at home searching through your music folders.

Goodness, me! Can someone chase him off his perch?

xkcd seems to have a comic relevant to everything... :p

Actually the celebration will be Friday night when the whole extended family will adjourn to Jackson TN to a certain restaurant. The person who had the birthday picks the restaurant. It's just what we do in my family. It will be Friday because everyone is busy throughout the week. We have some pretty epic weekends...

I must confess. I have a slurpey addiction. Why did I have to move next to a 7 11?

I was reading xkcd's "What if?" pages last night and found this. It seemed so relevant to so many discussions in this forum that I thought I would drop it here... and run!
