I am planning what to barbeque for dinner
BBQ...dinner...something is definitely wrong here lol
Traditionally - in the south ( U.S. ) - 'dinner' is the noon-time meal, and 'supper' is the evening meal. The folks in the north ( U.S. ) call dinner 'lunch' and supper 'dinner'.
What time of the day 'dinner' is depends on where you grew up.
It causes so much confusion...
If it were up to me --- I think I would define it - something like this:
~ breakfast - early morning meal; 6-9
~ "brunch" - late morning meal; 9-12
~ lunch - noon-time / early-afternoon meal; 12-3
~ dinner - late-afternoon meal; 3-6
~ supper - evening meal;6-9
"There -- simple -- problems solved..."
EDIT: ( Anything between 9 P.M. and 6 A.M. -- call it what you want, just not any of the above. )
