okay, sometimes i type lol when someone has made me chuckle, but
LOL! this time.
my sister and i were on the phone this morning (yes, old people still resort to that ancient method of communication), and we said we wished we could still boss our kids around.
and then quickly we said, no! no we don't want that!
life is hard for the young these days...we feel for you.

At times it would be nice for a smart phone, but like you I want to know how to use it. Plus, I don't like fingerprints and with a smart phone they would be everywhere. I know it drives me nuts with my tablet.
Fingerprints all over my screen drive me crazy....I like memorizing everything so I dont have to rely on google. There is actually a study that says google destroys the memory.

My phone is a simple slide phone that cost me only $20 and I don't use my phone very often anyway
Same, I keep a tracfone on me at all times as an emergency phone essentially unless a family member needs to get a hold of me.
I love my smart phone and my Ipad. I can travel through the mountains and remain in in contact with my friends around the globe, posting pictures on FB of the majesty of the mountains God created.
I have every phone number and email address at my finger tips. I can google just about anything, but especially use the maps to find my way around when I am in new cities or towns.
I can read theology, and post here while my husband drives the car. I carry all my favourite Christian music with me, in playlists appropriate to what I am doing. I can find a recipe on Pinterest, or a new kitchen on Houzz. I can read the news, watch a youtube video and find out what the weather is! Yep, I use a lot of data!

idk...it is smarter than i, though, but you're right....
i use it all the time to text my sis and nieces, and my kiddos.
i text my husband....he doesn't want to take the time to learn to text me back, tho.
but i can say, honey, will you get milk on the way home? haha
eh, at 65, he should be able to make that kinda choice, right?
ps--still have a landline. almost never use the cell as a phone if i'm home.
