Woke up this morning to my hot water pipes being frozen again. That happened at least three times last winter, so after having had some experience, I was able to get them thawed and running again, but this time around my kitchen sink isn't draining, which means that the drain is frozen up somewhere. I spent some time with the blowdryer trying to heat up the pipes between the sink and the floor but it didn't seem to do anything. Thankfully the frigid temps are supposed to break and get back up into the high 20's and low 30's by Sunday, so I'm hoping that keeping the cabinets open and the heat turned up will help out. I think I might stick a space heater under the sink when I get home too.
If you all could, just say a prayer that this doesn't turn into a much worse and costly situation with a burst pipe or something like that. Apparently the pipes that I have will expand up to an extra 50% of their normal size which delays any possible chance of them bursting, so I'm hoping that they'll be okay for another couple of days.
