John 6:65-68King James Version (KJV)

65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.
And the what did Peter do? Cock crowed etc etc.... And what did jesus do when he came back ? " Go tell them I am here ....and tell Peter too" Love manifested.

Those that left Christ were never saved. Had they been of Christ, they would have continued with Him. (Ref. 1John 2:19)
Really? Take a look at Peter.

oh, wait... wrong Bible. Let me get the right one....

Sorry, but when I trusted Christ, I was sealed until the day of the redemption of the purchased possession, not 'until I choose to walk away or until God no longer wants me'. God will not break the seal, I cannot break the seal. If either of us broke the seal, then Ephesians 1:13-14 is a lie. And, if Ephesians 1:13-14 is a lie, then how much more of God's Word is also a lie?

I made reference to Jeremiah 20:7-9 a few pages back, pointing out the fact that though Jeremiah decided he would just stop believing that God existed, he realized that was an impossible task. The Word was in him and shut up like fire in his bones.

It is the same with the sealed of God today. We have the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, who teaches us all things, testifies of Christ, and guides us into all truth. The saved cannot walk away, for they are guided by the Holy Ghost. The saved cannot stop believing, for the Spirit in us teaches us and testifies of Christ.

We are His eternally once we place our trust in Him as our propitiation for sin and for our Salvation.
I read the scripture... It is truth, I just don't have the understanding of this quite well.. I was one who was saved at 17 filled with Holy Ghost and open eyes ... but I was literally away from the world when this happened.. No contact with " old friends " and the like.. when I did come back into the world, I felt very different, I didn't realize how different until I was surrounded with my " old self friends " one that I was some what close with finally talked me into smoking marijuana with him and getting back familiar with my old self.. I soon fell back to sleep and back to the world.. Was in a maximum security prison six months later.. My life has been in jeopardy quite a few times from that point, I can think of five times at least off top of my head.. Had I' would've died, I would've died to the world.. I would've been destined to hell for sure .. of course I didn't die, and am back awake for good now ... So I guess this holds true... Smh, I wouldn't advise to do what we want because of being " predestined " plenty of pain and heart ache will follow suit, I have the scars to prove it..

Are we sure Paul wrote this......?

The Epistle to the Ephesians, also called the Letter to the Ephesians and often shortened to Ephesians, is the tenth book of the New Testament. Its authorship has traditionally been credited to Paul the Apostle but, starting in 1792, this has been challenged[1][2] as Deutero-Pauline, that is, written in Paul's name by a later author strongly influenced by Paul's thought.[3][4][5][6][7]

Rather if Paul wrote it or not, I take it as the inspired word of God, but I assure anyone who willfully turns away in sin and back to the world after receiving the Holy Ghost, will be in for a world of hurt..

you speak of the HS as if he is a hex or some seal in witchcraft that makes you do things against your will....if one cannot walk away they are not free....if one cannot stop believing ....someone is controlling his mind ...he is not free....
scripture is clear some will depart from the faith....you are saying one cannot walk away from the faith...
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

the seal of the HS is a mark of ownership.....not what you are implying...if what you are saying is true ...then Paul is lying....
1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

And I believe Paul over you...I believe you are in error my friend....

"for the destruction of the flesh. Doesn't say for the destruction of the soul. The man never lost his Salvation. Fact is, he didn't have Salvation at that point.

The man did in fact repent of his wickedness as related in 2 Corinthians.

Had he been saved and lost it, it would have been impossible to renew him to repentance.

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Hebrews 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Hebrews 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Nice try.

The thing is, had you been saved and lost your Salvation, you would still be lost today. Hebrews 6 is clear if one could lose one's Salvation, it is equally impossible to renew that one to repentance

I believe Paul wrote it. I believe the questioning of it's authenticity in the late 18th Century is just an attempt by the serpent to once again place doubt in man's mind and heart by saying, "Yea, hath God said,...?

As long as you have a couch in your living room, do you think you can believe that you have no couch in your living room?

We who are saved have the Holy Spirit in us. He testifies of Christ in our lives. The heart itself is deceitful above all and desperately wicked. How can I choose not to believe in One who is present with me at all times?

The answer is simple... I cannot.

you can have a couch in your living room and sit on the floor everyday....it is your choice...unless the maker of the couch placed a couch magnet to your butt that pulls you there against your will...even so God placed the HS in us but he does not force us against our will....that is why the scripture says if you follow the Spirit...one has to submit to God willingly as Christ did...

you do not understand that scripture ...so you are honestly mistaken...if one departs from the living God they are like the dog that return to his vomit.......but the living God stands at the door and knocks ....those who hear the voice and let him in will be reconciled...but you cannot return to the place of repenting, baptism and receiving the HS again...that only happens once.....will you stop being mistaken or stop being honestly mistaken

does your bible say faith without works is dead???? and we are saved by grace through faith....
Yep then it gives the example of Rahab the Harlot...who hide some folks for God, and was justified by God for this simple act of faith.... That's a working faith!

When it comes down to it...God made the witness of the Spirit in us the ultimate place of truth for us... Its sad that some don't have this great Witness in them, or has lost contact with the Spirit that bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.

the Spirit does indeed bear witness that we are the sons of God, Amen!

and He which began a good work in us will complete it, despite the claim of some that we can stop Him from completing it.

Its funny that some demand a certain amount of doubt has to be in our faith before we can be saved by faith...doubt is not faith...its unbelief and what many cannot see is its their legalism that is blinding them to having true faith... The law is not of faith...because it says salvation is based upon us...the righteous shall live by faith because we know and rejoice that salvation is based upon Christ and His work in us.

is it your understanding the the one act justified her before God for all time or did she have to continue in the faith of God....if a man is saved after falling in a pit....that does not mean he is saved from falling into all pits....

all that is only talk if you do not obey the witness...
