Mitspa is correct on this debate.. Problem is not everyone's in the Spirit, all they hear is the law is null and void.. and it is, to those in the Spirit... I don't hear a lot of Spirit preaching here, rather it be threads about water, works, and so on... Hardly ever the Spirit.. That's where the focus should be ... Helping folks get the Holy Ghost,
Right the purpose of the law is to condemn the flesh and through the law, die to the law to all confidence in the flesh...so that we might know we have the Spirit of God and walk in the Spirit...now walking in the Spirit is not legalism...in fact legalism is of the flesh...that's why Paul told those under the law they was in bondage to sin.

John 17:12
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Lord Jesus clearly says He lost Judas. Judas could not have been lost if He was not in Christ ever to begin with.
I know this makes a lot of you feel better to say they were never His to begin with, but that is not what scripture says. And others say you have come to share in Christ only if you remain faithful and obedient to Him.
John 6: 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

Who are these people Juduses or not ?

Matthew 7:21-23King James Version (KJV)

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Did they have genuine faith in God ?
they are people like you, ken and newbirth.

people who work to earn salvation, yet reject the grace of christ, their faith was in their works, and not in the work of Christ.

Notice, jesus said HE NEVER KNEW THEM.

they were not at one time saved, then lost it, they were never saved.

Right these are the people Paul spoke of in Galatians who had seen Gods Spirit and God work wonders among them and then turn back to be justified by the law....."YE HAVE FALLEN FROM GRACE" ..."YE ARE CUT-OFF FROM CHRIST" you who seek to be justified by the law.

It's one of two, Someone can do... Either walk in the Spirit, and succeed in the war against the flesh, or walk in the flesh and the lust of it .. Those who want law, want to try to please God in flesh, just not possible... Only way to please God is through Him in the Holy Spirit of Christ.. The law was satans tool to accuse, once it's gone " being in Spirit and forgiveness of God " satan has nothing left... All he can do is war against those who choose flesh..

…25He, leaning back thus on Yahshua bosom, said to Him, "Yahshua, who is it?" 26Yahshua then answered, "That is the one for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him." So when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27After the morsel, Satan then entered into him. Therefore Yahshua said to him, "What you do, do quickly."…

Yahshua picked him for a reason...it needed to happen just as it did,

2Co 3:6 ¶ Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Ministration of DEATH, written and engraved on stones ...only the Ten Commandments was written and engraved on stones. That has passed away and we now serve God. not according to the "letter" but according to the "Spirit"
Those verses do not say that the ten commandments were done away. They say the face of Moses shone with glory and that glory with which Moses face was shining was done away.

Exodus 34:29-35
(29) And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
(30) And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
(31) And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
(32) And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
(33) And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
(34) But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
(35) And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

These verses show the face of Moses shone with the glory of God after being with God so that Moses had to put a vail on his face when talking to the people. The glory on Moses face did not last for ever, it was done away. What remained after the glory of Moses face was done away? The ten commandments.

The Commandments still hold true for those in the flesh, it's a teacher, for those not in the Holy Ghost yet.. " we have to start some where " .. We start there " flesh " law. end up in the " Holy Ghost "no law .. Once living in and walking in Holy Ghost, you will keep all commanded of Yahshua by default...

If we are keeping the ten commandments by being in Christ then that does not do away with them, rather it confirms them. The ten commandments are ten promises. First God released them from bondage, then He gave the law, after the law He gave the sanctuary message teaching grace. Exodus has law and grace.

Yeah, this thread should've been named " Holy Spirit and law " ... It's grace that gets us to Holy Ghost. I'm not saying the commandments are done away with.. They are a teacher of whom are still learning about Holy Spirit...Once in Spirit, where one is dead to the pride of life and the lust of flesh.. We no longer need the Commandments, how can dead flesh kill, steal, and covet or worship false gods ? We are now one with Christ and God with the Holy Spirit

read this again...and try to remember ALL THE OTHER scriptures in the New Testament that makes absolute statements that we (believers) are not under the law...

Do you think God gave the ten commandments in vain? We need to be careful with the line of thinking you are saying because Satan is a master at decieving people. We are to become a living example of Christ. Christ is the perfect example of what it means to keep the law. To only have the law as do's and don'ts is to just have the letter of the law. To see the law as promises, as the character of Christ, we need to see the spirit of the law which is shown by the life of Christ.

So rather than say the ten commandments is done away or not needed is to teach incorrectly, rather we need to see the law in the life of Christ.

Not under the law means not under the condemnation of the law.

Romans 6:14-15
(14) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
(15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Romans 8:1
(1) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Being in Christ does not do away with the law, it takes away the condemnation of the law being in Christ.

Your just missing the truth...and you seem to think the law is greater than Christ and His Cross? I assume you also claim to keep parts of the law...or that you try and fail? So find the biblical standard that you keep ...not the one that you break.

The commandments are what brings death, we are all guilty, if satan was the District Attorney, we are all convicted and going to hell... Only way to beat him, is to lay your flesh down, to pick up our new life which we were given in grace and forgiveness of that which we learned to be true that resonated with our soul that is righteous keeping the commandments is just part of it, but to go beyond and love, give, help, charity, bring peace, patience, self control, meekness, and long suffering ... They go beyond the law.. and learn to live this way and walk this way..

That's part of the truth...so your saying the law cannot judge a believer as guilty? I agree with that.

Yes but if the Holy Spirit does not guide one to do those things, then I would question if that person really has the Holy Spirit to begin with. For I do not believe the Holy Spirit would direct a person to do contrary to what the Lord preached and taught. I believe the Holy Spirit helps us to get stronger in the areas we are told to do and walk in that we are weak at doing. If one does not believe the Holy Spirit would guide a person on helping them to keep the commandments of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ then I would question if they really have the Holy Spirit.
So one can not cancel out repentance, baptism, confession, and helping others in need as the Holy Spirit would guide us to walk in these and do them. If not then it would have been a waist of time for our Lord to command them, and I do not believe He gave those commands for nothing. Just to be overrode by a false understanding of a Paul doctrine, as in Paul taught more understanding then our Lord Jesus did. Not possible, not biblical as Paul himself said he could not preach a different gospel message and Jesus then what was already given.

Your not seeing the difference between the "letter" and the "Spirit" the Spirit is the law...its not pointing us to a list of rules...it is Gods divine nature and gives us God love which is THE ONLY way to keep what we see in the law of Moses....You cant keep the law by looking to the written rules...you have to keep it by walking in faith and that working by love....NOTHING PROFITS BUT FAITH WORKING BY LOVE!

Good post. Our perseverance is through the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Do remember that John said that the Water, the Spirit, and the Blood bear witness together... and agree as One.
The physical, the spiritual, and the mediator between them.

Yes you are right on the three witnesses given by John here, but the misconception as I have shown in the past is that the water is not natural birth as has been falsely taught by misapplying verse 6 in that chapter 3 of John.
