Yes! An internet stalking thread! FINALLY. XDD

On a serious note though, I have had guys have crushes on me that are MILES away. And I like them but I have no idea if it could ever work.... and sometimes I like the attention so much I'm not willing to really think about it.

Internet wise I am in love with Markiplier and Charlieissocoollike

I am the one who tends to revive dead threads hahhaa

I keep going to threads and I actually read the related thread section! It happens a lot, and I always forget to read the last posted date.

Sometimes some of the threads that are revived still have really good topics we haven't talked about in a while. I know I'm in the minority here but I really don't mind old threads, which is why I never put a "close by" date on my polls, etc.

However, since many people are against thread revival, I do often wish that the topics would be rewritten about because they're usually still very relevant. And by the way, Steph, you've been writing some great threads on your own! :) Keep up the great work.

I guess it's a good thing that you don't run this site then.
To me, gravedigging is just poor forum etiquette. I would also ban those who used "text" speak (it was Rule #2 no text speak) if you ain't smart enough to spell stuff out then don't post.

After the autolock mod was installed, any threads with no activity in the last 30 days would be locked which killed off rule #1.

And yes I ran my site like a Dictatorship. but after 10+ years of running it I said heck with it and closed it down and walked away.

And I thought the 10-character-minimum-per-post rule was harsh...

On the same token, some here have told users to use the search function prior to creating a new thread so as to not regurgitate a topic or raise an answered question.

What does it really matter?

so that ppl won't keep making threads on a certain subject if there's already multiple threads on it..which there is..hence the suggestion to search.

Oh, I understand that part! What I meant was that we have users telling others to not resurrect old threads, and yet other users promote the search function so that people don't make new threads about the same thing.

Where does the madness end? :p

I find it frustrating when one digs up a thread older than a year, especially if the OP was banned or left CC. Then there is really no reason to post further on it.

Personally, I'm tickled pink every time someone brings back an old, dead thread. If that didn't happen, I wouldn't get to experience the predictable joy of reading wisebeardman's "gravedigger" posts, nor would the rest of us have much to complain about...

*grumble grumble...stupid zombie threads...grumble...blah blah some other complaints...grumble*

Okay, so seriously, it makes sense to do a search on a topic if a user is looking to have a specific question answered- they can search, see if they find their answer, and be done with it (in theory). If they don't find their answer, they can start a new thread. No biggie.
Obviously that doesn't work that well...but it's a good theory...

Yeah but I've tried using the search function... frankly the search here sucks eggs. Googling "christianchat.com" and the topic works better. If the search algorithms here were better I'd be one of the ones recommending new users use search.

Some old threads are good to revive, some new threads on old topics can be allowed to run yet again... but some topics (not this one, but YOU know which ones we have seen a gazillion times) are just tiresome to see yet again. Perhaps we could have a sticky thread labeled "READ THIS BEFORE STARTING A NEW THREAD" with a list of those topics that keep coming up, and a few links to threads on those topics.

Come to think of it, the Bible Argument forum could use the same sticky. Top of the topics list would be "Christmas is evil, as we are told multiple times every year" and all the debates on standards, trinity vs. oneness, etc.
