Yeah you do. They just haven't chimed in yet. Let me be the first. Howdy, I'm Lynx. Welcome to the asylum.

And remember, please do not feed the Lynx. He's already too fat...

cinder's kind of crazy day today:

Did laundry and hung it on the porch drying racks to dry (standard procedure here). It was a cool cloudy day with a chance of rain and not much wind so I rigged up a new clothes dryer by pulling my fan out onto the porch and aiming it up at the clothes.

Poured myself a bowl of nuts and had ants crawling around in the bottom (I may have eaten one or two by accident). Put the rest of the bag of nuts in the freezer to kill any remaining ants (God may have made them and said they're good, but I hate ants, at least I hate the ones in my house and murder them without a twinge of guilt at every opportunity)

Worked more on next week's presentation. Hoping people can read my cheater written foreign. Hoping too that I don't tell so many stories I run out of time.

Didn't bring my computer into work today (I help out a few hours a week at an English center (for pay)) so had to help the other gal get the sound editing program on her computer and teach her how to slow things down and change the pitch so you can make one person's voice sound more like multiple people.

One of the students saw me leaving work and tried to invite me out for tea. Since he talked about often having tea with one of the male teachers I think he was just trying to use me for free English practice and not hit on me, but sometimes it's hard to tell.

Almost had another bike accident on the way home from work (and it wasn't even rush hour yet). Thank you God for protection, but I'm sometimes surprised that anybody survives traffic here for very long.

The day I understand people will be the day I die...
Hate to break it to you, but even on the day you die you probably won't understand people. But keep that as a goal so you have to stick around on this planet for a while.

Sound editors rock! Audacity is free, simple to use, powerful... and did I mention freeeeeee?! :D

Only problem is it uses a granular pitch changer. For pitch changing without the granular effect, try a vocoder-based pitch changer. I use the one included with Reaper DAW.

One last word on pitch changing: Say something in a low voice, make a copy of the recording, shift the copy down by a fifth (6 semitones.) It will give you an evil, almost demon voice. Especially if you do a low, evil laugh.

I laughed out loud at the ants thing. For a long time. I'm sorry. Couldn't help it. :)

You will be happy to hear that I suffered no ill effects from ant ingestion, and that my desire to murder helpless things has been fully satisfied with trying to keep ants out of my food and house. You (and the rest of CC) are safe (probably forever since ants seem to be very good at reproducing and coming back).

I don't like it when people use the word "interesting"... sometimes it sounds so over-used and almost like a "consolation prize."

Also.. that high mile burger from Carls Jr. is delicious! :D
how interesting!

I started a painting of an iris, ohh, about a month ago now. I got it um...not done. Well, my son got hold of a paint brush with black paint on it and went to town on the canvas, so that's been a bit of a set back. I can fix it. But I've just been very 'blah' about trying to paint since then.

Today seems like a good time to try again.

Though, at the same time, I keep feeling frustrated because I'm just not very good at painting. So the more I tell myself that, the less I practice. Which makes it worse.

You know what? Shut up, negative voices (oh dear I'm talking to myself...again...). I'll do what I want and do it well...or at least enthusiastically. So...yeah!! Take that!

There ain't a flippin' thing wrong with talking to yourself MissChris. Answering yourself is fine too. What should worry you is if you slap yourself in the face because of what you said about your grandmother...

I still talk to myself. I don't talk to me though. Me thinks he's five different people. I and myself just leave me alone these days... He's nuts!

I don't think I could do this to kids, but the little ones who said it was okay were soooooooooo sweet!!! :)

I can't even TALK about the tantrums and throwing stuff though....wow....unbelievable. I can't imagine what sort of behavior they've witnessed that would make that seem okay.

Why is it that parents blame their children for the choices the child makes? The child is a product of their rearing!

Sometimes I think that the exam that you have to take to become a biological parent to a child is too easy.

I gotta stay out of the Walmarts till 2015. Stupid season is nigh upon us.

I feel like God has really blessed me a lot with wisdom regarding relationships and marriage in a way that a lot of things just make sense to me as far as how He has designed us. And a lot of things I have picked up from books and sermons.
But what's funny to me is that so many people in relationships who have the opportunity to put this stuff into practice either don't know it or choose to ignore it while I've simply never had the chance to put it into practice.

God has a reason and a plan. And I'm thankful for the people I know who do put marital wisdom into practice for the rest of us to learn from and admire.

Ah yes Charcoal, this is that magical time of year when you need to stock up on whatever you will need for the next month and a half... because it really stinks to stand in line for 40 minutes to pay for a roll of toilet paper.
