This...is not going to be pretty. I will probably torque some turkeys.
First of all, this thread-
Once upon a time, there was a female member here who was doing some questionable things and messing with the emotions of a handful of other members here. In turn, one of those men was also doing some questionable things and messing with the emotions of a handful of women here. In an attempt to hurt each other (I think...I never could quite figure out the entire story, despite having numerous pieces of the puzzle), this man and this woman dragged a lot of decent, respectable members into their twisted drama, and a whole lot of people got burned pretty badly- from the ones directly involved, to the ones on the outskirts simply trying to be a friend to one or both of the main characters, to those who simply had no idea that either of these people were behaving in this way (which was completely opposite of the way they portrayed themselves in the forum) and therefore ended up feeling lied to and betrayed.
This thread is a big, giant, ginormous, humongous reminder of that entire mess.
I'm going to ask nicely for everyone to please let this thread die, although I'm fully aware that there's no reason whatsoever that anyone would grant that request because it is an open, public forum, and short of a moderator stepping in and locking it (which I can't see why they would), this thread will probably continue to pop up at random, to the chagrin of several of us who got burned.
On a sort of related note, this thread was also just one of many in which a certain man and a certain woman flaunted their brief flirtation all over the forum, completely disregarding numerous requests that they please keep it to PM's. They were approached both privately and publicly, both separately and together, and by several different people, in several different ways, asking them to please tone it down as their constant flirtation and "mushyness" was not only making others uncomfortable, but was getting pretty annoying and over-the-top gag-tastic.
I bring that up because...
There is a couple repeating this behavior. Tourist and JesusLives, while I obviously have no idea if anybody has pm'd either of you about your behavior in the forum, I do know a couple of people have voiced openly that they would like for you to keep what ought to be private to yourselves.
And the response I've seen to those requests is for the mushyness to now be accompanied by sarcasm directed towards those who dared to put a damper on your public romantic displays.
That's childish. Here you are, two nearly 60 year old adults, behaving like teenagers...in a bad way. In a disrespectful way.
I really hope that you'll both take into consideration the fact that your behavior is not just inappropriate for a public, Christian forum, but that it's also making some people uncomfortable, and is even painful for others.
I would also hope that this thread might now go quietly into the night, but I've been around here long enough to know that won't happen.

Out of respect for MissCris we will never post in this thread again.....We had no idea that such a fiasco had happened in this thread as we just stumbled upon it and thought it was amusing...obviously did not read the entire thing just thought it would be fun to derail in a derail thread.
Did not realize that a horse had been beaten death here and we let dead dogs/horses lie.
As for the flirtation there are no guarantees as we are head over heels in love....Sorry for the pain we are causing as it was not intentional. You can please some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
