Scottish independence should be celebrated here but it's not.

I can't help but see that the Americans who are pro-Unions and the same ones waving their flags on US independence day. The same ones who rage against a New World Order. The same ones who vote for the party who came up with the New World order concept.

Conservatives hijacked the independence vote in Australia in the 1990s. The conservatives both in the UK & USA are doing their best to hijack things now.

After all they must protect the New World Order!

If Scotland is a drain on the UK, then it will be good for them to leave.
If Scotland is not a drain on the UK, then it will be good for them to leave.
Independence is the opposite of a New World Order
Independence will be an economic boom for Scotland with many new business opportunities.

So now if Scotland votes to secede, what next?
I can next hear it said that the counties & shires & cities that voted to stay in the UK will stay in the UK -- those that voted to vamoose can amscray (skeedaddle)! And then suppose the northern regions vote to stay, then it is only fair that they stay in the UK with the oil offshore!

And also, oil in the Sea is not oil in Scotland. So don't think the UK is going to let Scotland have it all.

If Scotland can vote to leave the UK by right of self-determination, then counties & cities that vote to stay can stay by right of self-determination.

Next, what does the UK do when Scotland gets annoyed and makes an alliance with Russia to have Russian military bases in Scotland???

Isn't one reason why England wanted Scotland because the Scots were making alliances with France against England many years ago?

In short, IMHO, this is insanity in Scotland.

But if you go, look for Texas to demand independence next, which I would vote for!

What is all this we & our theory. Why don't you go county by county, shire by shire, city by city. Figure it out the money. County X's money goes to County Y. Then break it down into neighborhoods: My neighborhood's money goes to another neighborhood. So then counties could secede from Scotland. I demand that my neighborhood control its own money & have full control of whom we vote for! And if my neighborhood votes contrary to me, why I insist on the independence of my house! I want to control my money & whom I vote for. And then, aw heck, my wife may want to secede from me so she can control her own things. And what about the international bankers, the EEU, the Chicoms loaning money?

What do they call it in Scotland, daft?

But it seems to me that at least some of Scotland's leaders have it all figured out right:
If we became independent, then we would all be rich because they we could simply vote benefits to ourselves; we could pass a law that all should be rich! We can print the money & give it to ourselves for utopia.

Sorry but I find that really patronizing. I live here & I know what goes on in my country, as for bankers? Whenever they mess things up, we, the public have to bail them out with our money, then they end up with a big bonus on top of their wages, & we are the ones that are hit with austerity cuts, I don't think you know what you are talking about, sorry but I am the Scottish person here.

Ahha! Welcome to Alberta, where elections are decided in eastern Canada before the polls even close, and we have been bilked out of trillions of dollars in oil and gas money, which under our constitution were guaranteed as provincial rights.

Well, I hope the vote goes the right way for you. I have always been a western Canadian separatist, so I get what you are saying!

The Clock ticketh, 4 hours to doomsday or so. Only Dr. Who could fix it if the Daleks win in Scotland. They have landed & are rolling bout, "Exterminate, exterminate, exterminate!"

And they are letting 16 year olds vote on this.

And there they are, the world's model of resuv and stability, with methinks the oldest stable government in the world (USA next BTW).

Its a good thing if you are a nationalist who hates the English and loathes that fact that Scotland has had to endure 300 years of being told what to do by the English. This is what it really is about.

I really think that is just a pretense now though. They wrap up their move for independence in history when it is really about what has transpired in the last seventy years.

Whatever happens, I wish the English the best. See what I did there? ;)

The Scots have to decide themselves. Those of us not being Scots dont really have a say here. But I will give credit to both Scots and English' for keeping this a peaceful referendum so far.

My personal opinion is it's a bad decision for both sides. My reasons:
1. There is safety in numbers - bigger = stronger.
2. Where do the Scottish go for jobs? For instance there is a huge percentage of Scots in the British armed forces. They really will be out on a limb with no armed forces of their own and they are dangerously close to Russia.
3. Their currency will we weak.
4. The banks have already voiced their concern and are preparing to move out of Scotland.
5. Royal Navy orders will probably go to Devonport in the future.
6. They already get perks the English don't such as free prescription drugs and free hospital parking, I'm pretty sure there is more I'm unaware of.
7. They will no longer be members of the EU and what about NATO?
8. Will they expect the rest of Britain to bail them out when they fall flat on their faces?
9. My guess is that this will be the beginning of an exodus which will include Wales and N Ireland - possibly even Cornwall who think themselves a cut above the rest of us.

Really the list is endless. Have they really thought this through?

I can't be bothered with the negative comments anymore.... just leave it to the Scots to decide what they want. Also, we are voting for our Independance, it has nothing to do with hating English people, nobody hates them, what about the Welsh & Irish? Does it mean we hate them too if we vote yes for our independance? We want to get away from Westminster who waste our money, that's it & it's not about getting away from the English!! I'm really shocked with your comment Agricola!!

It's not looking good for freedom lovers so far. Looks like it will be a win for the foreign powers and New World Order :( Sad really.

Well, it looks like Scotland will not go off Scot Free. The first 2 areas reporting, methinks were strongholds for the Scottish Pride thing, and they voted to stay, gave the nay to amscray.
