Youth soccer started again. Had to wake up waaaay too early for seeding tournament. Didn't have time for breakfast, so I threw an orange at kid before she hopped into the car.
Games are going all morning. I snuck away for coffe and bagels, and got a chocolate chip one, toasted with cream cheese for the kid. Upon returning to games, her BFF told me that her mom put sunscreen on my daughter, who I keep forgetting is pasty-white. She also insisted on sharing my daughter's bagel with her, since she was also running late and had skipped breakfast. I am glad I am not the only parent who isn't perfectly prepared on a saturday morning.
As an aside, I LOVE how my daughter's coach this year interacts with the team. He gets their attention before talking to them, is articulate, succinct, and doesn't talk down to them. My daughter's attention drifted as her bagel became more important than his tips on throw-ins, so I introduced myself and told him it was okay to be mean to her.

There is a beautiful stray cat that hangs around my house. He's all black with beautiful slanted yellow eyes, and a bit longer and leaner face so he looks regal. My goal is to get him to like me. The other day he was laying on a patio chair on the deck, so I took a bowl of food outside and shook it while talking gently. He still ran away, but not totally, just to the edge of the house. I set the food down and went back inside. I watched him come back and eat, and he just devoured it.
I want to name him. I'm thinking something related to X-Men: Erik/Magneto, Charles/Xavier, Nightcrawler, or Logan. I think I'm leaning towards Xavier.

She says that like it's a bad thing.

Well Crud-o-rama, I was just going to "ban" Oncefallen in "The Banning Thread" for being WAY too reasonable and making WAY too much sense in his posts on this forum.
If that's not grounds for a good, solid banning around here, I don't know what is.
Unfortunately, the thread is now closed... Maybe someone should ban me for always being a little too late... (In real life, I'm usually really early... but here, somehow, I always arrive to the party long after I've turned back into a grouchy pumpkin. You'd be grouchy too if people carved up your face.)

I dunno. it was kind if a fun thread. maybe it made light of the banning process, which can be an anguishing decision for the mods. the thread may give some the idea that banning people is done capriciously when it is actually (I would assume) a mod's least favorite task.
Maybe it was because of what ^ said.

If you pray about it you'll get an answer. Might be one you didn't want, but it'll be the right answer. I have a friend who was dating this one girl, and he was wondering if it was right. He prayed about it, and in his words "The very next date we took, she showed more red flags than a chinese parade."
