Re: Why Not Trust Him w/ Your Eternal Destiny?

Eternal life is yours just for trusting the Savior.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, & you shall be saved.

Why debate it?
Is it too much to confess your depravity and cast yourself on the Mercy of God, realizing that you will never earn approval of your works to eternal life?

Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
These for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Savior, or I die.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son
that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus,
for He shall save His people from their sins.

I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish.
Just taking a look again, and find you are still pushing your false interpretation of salvation/eternal life.
After all the help, you still cannot figure it out.

Ricky, show me one verse where anyone ever is said to stop believing in the Lord Jesus as Savior to eternal life. "Lose faith" never occurs in the Bible. But on the contrary, we see the Lord Jesus praying for Peter that Peter's faith fail not. Do you suppose that the Lord Jesus who makes intercession for believers is refused his requests for Christians? Born again children of God may indeed fail to trust the Lord in some situation, but we don't find their trusting the Lord for their eternal destiny ever stopping. Peter trusted the Lord enough to get out of the boat and walk on the water. He faltered, but an arm grabbed ahold of Him.

I can no more stop being a child of God that I can stop being a son of my earthly father.

Why bother indeed. I trust the Lord JEsus as my SAvior, not as my "chance-giver." I believe His word:

I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish. Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save HIs people from their sins. He Who began a good work in you will complete it.

Now Ricky, what have you got against trusting the Lord Jesus as your Savior? Will you continue to insist that He is no Savior all the way to the Lake of Fire?
You've been shown over and over and over again. Would another repetition reeealy garner any more attention from you?

Not only have I, but many others here have done so as well. I'm suprised you think God's word as spoken in Mark 4:17, Hebrews 6:6, 1 Timothy 4:1, Matthew 24:10 (to name just a few) is mistaken.

Don't let your big colorful lettering blind you to the truth.

Good verses, none of which mention save or salvation. Neither does the passage tell how you get changed from being a sinner to being righteous.

Salvation is for sinners, persons who deny God, who deny the Savior & salvation (bad-mouthing the Savior as a mere "chance-giver") who are abominable, disobedient, unto every good work reprobate. These all are invited to drop claims of self-righteousness, plead spiritual bankruptcy, and trust the Savior to do the saving.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, & you shall be saved, saved from sins like self-righteousness and being persons who persons who deny God, who deny the Savior & salvation (bad-mouthing the Savior as a mere "chance-giver," who are abominable, disobedient, unto every good work reprobate.

Mat 25 judges sheep & goat gentiles for how they treated Christ's brethren during the Tribulation:

Matt. 25:31
But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory: 32 and before him shall be gathered all the nations [gentile nations]: and he shall separate them one from another, as the shepherd separateth the sheep from the goats; 33 and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: . . . .
Then shall they [gentiles of the Tribulation] also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee [Christ's brethren] an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee [Christ's brethren]?
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these [my brethren], ye did it not to me.

This is not the plan of salvation. Mat 25 doesn't mention save or salvation even once.

For by grace you have been saved through faith,
& that not of yourselves, not of works lest anyone should boast.

Thou shalt call his name Jesus,
for He shall save His people from their sins.

None of those verses say anyone loses salvation.

Repent of your disbelief in salvation, your relegation of the Lord Jesus to a mere chance giver.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus,
For He shall save HIs people from their sins.

Repent of denying the gospel.

I give them eternal life, & they shall never perish. Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save HIs people from their sins. He Who began a good work in you will complete it.

Ok lets look at these verses;

Titus : Profess to know God ( believe in Him), but in works deny Him ( no salvation ).

Matthew 25 : Call Jesus Lord ( believe in Him ), do not help others/no good works ( go to everlasting punishment/ no salvation. )

Titus : Profess to know God ( believe in Him), but in works deny Him ( no salvation ).
Kenneth, not only does the word believe not occur in the verse, but the verse says nothing about anyone knowing God. It speaks about people professing something. Also, "salvation" is not in the verse, nor is it the subject. People make many false claims.

May the Lord open your heart & mind to understand what Savior, save, and salvation are all about. Salvation is an act by the Savior on a person who is saved. The savee. The wretched sinner obtains help from a loving Savior who paid for His sins on the cross. He saves, the sinner gets saved. -ed, something done TO him.

Am I correct that you don't understand what saving faith/belief is? Saving faith is not believing that something is so. It is not believing that Jesus is the Son of God. Saving faith is trusting Him to save you.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ -- trust in, depend on Him,
and you shall be savED.

Matthew 25 :
Call Jesus Lord ( believe in Him ), do not help others/no good works ( go to everlasting punishment/ no salvation. )
Again, you invent things. The expression "Call Jesus Lord" never occurs in Mat 25. If someone addresses God Almighty as "Lord" at a judgment, that implies absolutely nothing about "believe in Him." The text never says nor implies that any of the damned ever believed in the Lord Jesus as Savior. That they consider that He is the Lord of the universe, is irrelevant.

Again you don't seem to know what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus. And salvation does not occur in Mat 25. If someone goes to everlasting punishment, there is nothing about being saved.

Now is the day of salvation. Salvation does not occur at any future judgment. Neither do people who are saved in the now lose salvation at any future judgment.

Moreover, works cannot save. "Not of works, lest anyone should boast." At a judgment a record of works could indicate that a man was saved in his life, as good works follow salvation.

Meditate on what believe and saved mean. If you believe, trust Jesus as Savior, you will be saved, transformed to a child of God. Christ does that saving; you will be the object saved. And you will receive the free gift of eternal life. You shall never perish.

Thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.

Christ does the saving. The people receive the salvation = His work, not theirs.

Dear Ricky,

If you wish to be with the Lord in glory, enjoying His company, you simply must trust Him as Savior. There is no promise of salvation for those who deem Him a chance-giver.

Can you not bring yourself to depend on Him for your eternal destiny?

You don't believe that He saves His people from their sins?

You are the one who is lost, and can and do not understand the meaning in those verses I gave.

Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate

It says clearly they profess they know God.

This is what profess means,

  • pro·fess
  • [ prō féss ]

  • declare something falsely: to make a statement falsely claiming that something is the case
  • declare something openly: to make a statement acknowledging something openly or publicly
  • express faith in particular belief: to follow a particular religion

They say they know God ( which would mean they believe in Him ), yet they still deny Him in their works.

Matthew 25:31-46
[SUP]31 [/SUP]When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
[SUP]32 [/SUP]And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
[SUP]33 [/SUP]And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
[SUP]35 [/SUP]For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
[SUP]36 [/SUP]Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
[SUP]38 [/SUP]When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
[SUP]39 [/SUP]Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
[SUP]40 [/SUP]And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
[SUP]42 [/SUP]For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
[SUP]43 [/SUP]I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
[SUP]46 [/SUP]And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Notice both groups in verses 37 and 44 refer to Jesus as Lord.

Both believe in Him as Lord, but one gets salvation ( eternal life ) the other do to denying Him by works get eternal punishment ( no salvation ).

If you believe it has nothing to do with salvation, then you are misguided because nobody gets punished in heaven.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: . . . .

You do have the most bizarre religion and interpretation of scripture. You are truly one of a kind which confirms that what you say is false. Christianity has had the same understanding of scripture for 2000 years and your view cannot even be found in the ballpark.

You have repeated your mantra that goes nowhere. You have established your own strawman to knok down instead of interacting with the responses which have clearly shown the meaning of scripture while showing that your view is not scriptural.

You again show your vast confusion regarding what Christ did and man's response. Christ saved every single human being from death and sin. In order to be justified by faith one must believe that fact. But attaining eternal life is not something Christ does either alone or unilaterally. Once you get a few facts straight you might be able to understand scripture a little better
