I think loneliness can kill because you have less a reason to care about your health so you're more likely to smoke,drink,or eat unhealthy. Also,as isolation continues one might be more prone to risky behaviors without there being someone there to stop them,just a thought.![]()
But that's not actually the meaning. A study was done on small towns with close knit communities vs larger cities. On the average people in small towns, who are all close, and know each other, live longer than people in larger cities where you are less likely to even know your neighbor, let alone dozens of people. Its the actual close relational connections that has a positive effect on people. There may be some truth to your idea as well, but really just the fact of having close relationships and frequent interaction with people has an affect all its own.
