Well, seems to me you have two choices.

1. Walk with God, which also includes some of the boredoms and self denials in this life...but only for a season.

2. Walk with the devil to your hearts content as long as you live...because when life is over you'll wish you had made the first choice.

Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture.
Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants.
(Luke 8:6-7)

Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.
The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
(Luke 8:13-14)

Crossnote has a way of cutting through to the nitty gritty of a subject!

What you are saying about being bored is what man who creates a new way of living have been saying since Nimrod, the great grandson of Noah, decided to create a more exciting God. He used the sun as the center, and we are still using his idea of worshipping on the Sun's day.

I guess the fantasy world can do fine, I hope you like the one you create. I like the real world God created and I really live in. I think it is exciting and fun, from the family, the results of talking with God, hiking in the untouched wilderness, to seeing what man can create of beauty using the talents God gave.

i don't mean to sound insensitive, but if you've lost vision for the beauty of the Gospel,
try a heavy dose of Law.

i mean, r-e-a-l God's Law. Matt. 5 comes to mind where Jesus intensifies the Law.
honest reading oughta make you squirm in your seat. :)

the culmination of that chapter is Be PERFECT as your Father in heaven is PERFECT.

how's that working out for ya? :)

learning to love the Gospel yet?

The question is whether you believe God is real. It's easy to believe He's real when there's passion, but does He remain real in the boredom? The enemy is going to try and make you bored with Him, they're going to sidetrack and occupy you elsewhere. And the flesh will want to follow. But even in the midst of such following, God is still real. You can't really detach from that even if you and your handlers would like you to. So let that be your faith, your motivation to say bored with it or not, He's still real so I'm still following.

losing interest in the holy spirit?

go to Jesus more
get away from the world more
give the TV to goodwill
read your Bible more
pray and keep the Sabbath and you will be recharged each week gets better.

that works every time.

oh, and remember, that's not just actions.

God demands absolutely perfect compliance with His Law
every second of every day in thought, word, deed.
every motive must be pure, meaning you must WANT to obey Him at all times.

think you could do it?
'course not, and what's amazing is your Judge took God's wrath against your sin (y-o-u).
that's the Gospel.
He takes your sin and gives you His righteous obedience.

Good News!

There is a Prayer forum here on CC. I would suggest you post your dilemma there..
I would also look up a Charles Spurgeon sermon on the topic of 'Christ's death for us' , that may help prime the pump.

Eenie, Menie, Minie Mo? Talk it over with God? Read history to see how God works? Look at the people around you and see who is most happy? Those drunken parties my neighbors often have sound loud and lots of laughs, but the kids come crying to my door and the ambulance sometimes come to pick up the pieces. God leaves you completely free to choose whatever you like.

maybe try giving yourself some goal & routine, like reading a psalm a day until you finish the book.
David spent a lot of time on-the-run from Saul, and many of the psalms reflect his frustration and struggles with patience. maybe God will speak to you through them.

God works in 'the twinkling of an eye' and also on eternal timescales; it's wrong to blame Him for a 'lack of excitement' -- He asks us to wait for Him (Isaiah 40:31).

i'm not always excited either, but i don't stop believing because of it. i know everything has it's time & season (Ecclesiastes 3) and that my emotions and feelings aren't the end-all of truth. it's easy to 'have faith' when day by day you see miracles -- like Thomas believed because he saw and touched the Lord, we are more blessed if we believe without the evidence of our hope standing right in front of us.
in the OT the Israelites were strong in their faith when ever day they had a pillar of fire and cloud to follow, but were quick to forget. God was most pleased with men like Joshua who kept their faith.

a good employee is one that keeps working hard when the job is dull. i want to be like this - and that sometimes means getting up and ploughing on when i don't enjoy it. the weekend seems a long way off on monday, but the sun keeps rising and setting, and holidays come. if i only worked on the days i felt like it, i would have a really small paycheck, if i even still had a job.

This is the work of God—that you believe in the One He has sent.
(John 6:29)

don't stop believing. seasons change; leaves fall from trees and there is cold and stillness, and then spring comes and everything blooms into new life. ;)

I cant find any interest in the bible and worship anymore.. I dont feel like praying...i cant get interrest anymore and if i ask god he wont make my interrests in him come back..

So my thinking is that the gospel should not be one of the items on our "interest" lists. I have and have had many interests, many of which have come and gone (and come back and gone again) over time. The gospel is something that should permeate everything in our life. It's not something you do for a certain period of time during certain days - it's something you live in, all day everyday.

Maybe an analogy would help. I consider myself a patriotic American (perhaps you could relate if you're a patriotic Swiss or European). This isn't something that's an interest item that happens on Thursday night from 1600-1700. It's just part of who I am. In the same way, living the gospel is living life as a citizen of the Kingdom of God. It's finding our entire identity in the Messiah and living under his rulership in his kingdom. It should be central to our identity, not a somewhat central item on our list of hobbies/things-we-do.

If you have some interests that you're passionate about, whatever they are, do them as a member of the Kingdom of God. You don't have to read the bible cover-to-cover for certain lengths of time during the week to live the gospel. You don't have to pray for any particular length of time to live the gospel. The Kingdom of God is loving God, loving your neighbor, forgiveness, charity, etc.. These are things that are done all the time in everything we do.

God gives us an understanding of how life is supposed be and principles of how to have life abundantly. These principles sound and even feel backwards to us. Principles such as, it's better to give than it is to receive. Start serving and giving to others in a supernatural way and watch life start blooming all around you and inside you. Listen to this.

Luke 14:13-14 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

When you do this, you will be blessed and this blessing goes way beyond human reason and expectation.

What denomination are you? Christians in some denominations go thru burnout because of being "programmed" to death, & some go thru dead spells in charismatic & Pentecostal denominations because they're used to the excitement & they "top out". (need more & can't get it)

I am curious if you have read all the other Bible books as well. If not, maybe a suggestion to refreshen your interest would be to read some of the other books in the Bible.

Satan wants you to be bored of the Bible. So far so good. But, Jesus said that He will never leave us. Does this apply to everyone except you? Rest assured that He will hear your knock on His door and come rushing back like never before. You can bet your soul on it.
