I had to call the office here to ask them to send maintenance over to put the screen back in the window after last night's incident. No big deal.
So, a little while ago, the maintenance guy knocked on the door.
It was not the same guy who replaced my smoke alarm or fixed the leaky shower head.
It turns out, the first guy I ever dated just happens to be working for the apartment complex.
So, when I opened the door, instead of like, getting out of the way so he could come in and fix the screen, I may or may not have started laughing. Kind of a lot. We have a sort of really awkward history, throughout which we both called each other some stupid things and acted like jerks. As a teenager, I used to make a point of flipping him the bird every time I saw him. He told me that I was a "waste of fat and flesh". Totally ridiculous things like that.
Anyway, he was very professional about it all- he waited patiently for me to stop laughing, said good morning, asked if there were any other problems with my apartment, discovered the screen was too bent to fit back properly and that he'd have to take it and fix it and come back later.
He's apparently turned into like, an adult...while I, obviously, have not.
