I swear, I think it's that pole you're using. It's too thick. And you need to fish in water that's a little more than 2 inches deep. EVERYONE - please go to her profile, look at the picture of her fishing and tell me the pole's not too thick.
Heyyyyy... that was the ONE time I actually caught something!!

1. name an activity that you typically don't enjoy, but are willing to compromise on to spend time with a member of the opposite sex (whom you are fond of).

one thing i've noticed is that when the company is great, a lot of things i'd normally be disinterested in can be fun.

but i've watched plenty of movies/tv that i'd never have the patience for, otherwise, and spent hours simply "holding the can of nails" during projects, just to keep him company.

2. how quickly does it take you to fall asleep, and how many hours do you usually sleep each night?

if i've managed to spend all my energy, about 15 or so min, but when i was rehabbing my injury and couldn't work out, i tossed and turned quite a bit.

i usually get 6 hours most nights. then after a handful of days, i crash hard and sleep at least 9 hours.

3. how materialistic are you?

i've never been terribly materialistic, but working for myself has helped me to re-orient my life in ways that are focused on God and others and not all the trappings of what can distract us.

i've also learned how very little i actually need to be happy, and how material things so easily can own us and our lives. i love how simple my life has become and how easy it's been to get rid of so many things that i thought i needed.

4. what's your favorite beverage(s) to enjoy with a meal?

usually water. sometimes, a glass of wine, especially when the meal really calls for it, like chicken parm or lovely steak or piece of fish.

and always a kirin with sushi.

5. what do you see when you look in the mirror?

someone whose face seldom conceals the joy in her heart and whose body is (almost) always ready for the next adventure.

1. How long does it take you to count backwards from zero?

2. If you had $1000 dollars and you put $500 in the bank and spent the other $500, and then the bank failed because the government didn't think it was big enough to bail-out, how many dollars would you have left?

3. How many calories are in a diet soda?

4. What's pi minus 3.14?

1. how good of a swimmer are you? what's your "preferred style/stroke"?
Hmm. I haven't tried in years, so I wouldn't like being lost at sea :p but I've known how to swim since I was quite young, so I guess I'd manage in most of the more likely swim- situations :p

2. finish this statement: i feel stupid when _________.
I forget to / how to do something that I really, really should know how to do :p

3. which color
crayon are you?
Invisible :D

4. if given the opportunity, what one thing would you instantly change about yourself?
My stubbornness?

5. did you play sports in school? if yes, which ones?
There isn't the same focus on sports here. They are not part of school other than a gymclass a week. I preferred "game" style activities

1. What movie deserves a sequel?
Hmmm! I guess many should have been made sequels. And make new movies I am waiting for years!! One is SHAZAM! I am still waiting for Captain Marvel to be featured as main character in the movie..

2. What one toy would you like to throw repeatedly at a brick wall?
A rubber ball (such as a lacrosse ball).

3. What is one thing you always wanted as a kid, but never got?
Well, I did get a snowmobile I always wanted. So, let me say this something different: what is one I always wanted as a kid but never got: a high school sweetheart and to take her to the prom.

4. Where do you not mind waiting?
To get to the next destination riding in our missionary friend's vehicle or the bus throughout Central America going from Capital to Capital for many hours.. It is worth to see the beauty of Centroamerica.

5. What is your most impressive car repair skill?
Can do many repairs but most impressive JOB on a car repair was that cold wintry 10 degrees snowing evening at six pm.. I changed tires for a young lady in her 20s (I was 20 at the time) who needed to change tires quickly to get home for her hot date in an hour! LOL! True story!! Rest is made history!

4. how would you describe the "perfect breakfast"
Mooseburger & Banana split

I love the Banana split part -no mushburger tho'...as that is something the sled dogs eat during the Itidarod, helps them to "mush". Alpo probably taste better! You had it right the first time, filet mignon, mine will be medium rare. The rest of the menu is acceptable. The coals are almost hot enough. I will put yours on the grill first and a few minutes later, mine. That way we will be ready at the same time. In Florida you will not need the turtlenecks. I will get you something cute from Ron Jon's Surf Shop. Yeah, surf and turf...

1. what three things do you enjoy doing alone in your free time?

i'm well known to have music blaring (yes, blaring) from my house 98% of my waking hours, so i'm going to say that listening to music goes with pretty much everything i do.

1. reading/studying/learning
2. movement: dancing/working out/yogaesque-stretching/hanging upside down on my inversion rack
3. driving/exploring places

2. what's the most impressive and delicious meal that you can make yourself, from scratch?

classic beef wellington, twice baked potatoes, roasted veggies and a chocolate souffle (or creme brulee).

i really love to cook. what i consider impressive and delicious (i.e. crave-worthy) is constantly is changing.

3. name something you have an irrational fear of.

the dark. i still sleep with a night light.

4. if you had to choose, which super hero would you date?

take superman. he's got nice, clean cut looks and plenty of mystery and confidence, but i'm not particularly drawn to men who fancy spandex.

and batman is pretty easy on the eyes and has all the cool toys. but i am pretty sure he's a player, and that's so.not.attractive.

wolverine is way too moody for me, and he's got a really weird haircut. plus i'd be afraid to hold his hand -- the risk for bloodshed would be too great.

i think thor is pretty cool, and i think that's who my choice would be. but to be clear, i only like him for his mind and impressive vocabulary. ; ) i'd probably have to give him a haircut though.

5. are you more likely to be running late or running early for a social event with a close friend? why?

i wish i could say otherwise, but the honest answer is i'm more likely to be running late than running early.

when it's really important, i am usually right on time. but yeah, i struggle with that one. i'm also the kind of person who has 345345 alarms set up on my phone to help me to wake up and get out of the door on time.

1. what three things do you enjoy doing alone in your free time?

Reading definitely. If you can't count CC. Which I also do, but technically when I'm here I'm not alone. :)

2. what's the most impressive and delicious meal that you can make yourself, from scratch?

I grill a beautiful salmon or mesquite chicken with rice and steamed broccoli. Not too fancy, but very yummy and healthy.

3. name something you have an irrational fear of.

Heights. Not a FEAR really. My mind knows all is well. But my body physically rejects the idea of being up high, sooo...

4. if you had to choose, which super hero would you date?

I'd have to go with Superman (Christopher Reeves style) or Cyclops from X-Men.

5. are you more likely to be running late or running early for a social event with a close friend? why?

I'd be early, but I wouldn't intrude until it was time. I have just always felt like when you set up a time to be somewhere, you should be there at that time. Unless the friend is always late, in which case I match my lateness to what I expect theirs to be. :p
