Hello everybody I have a question that was brought up in our young adult discussion at my church.. What's your thoughts on Christians getting tattoos?? Is it wrong why or why not??
The bible does say not to put any permanent markings on your body...but honestly I think it's personal thing like....maybe your doing cause your mother passes away and your doing it in honor but I mean if you just doing cause everyone else is doing it...
But if you do get one, they'll be their your entire life or you can pay a crap load of money to get them removed lol
I have two tattoo's. A dove with an olive branch which reminds me of God's peace and fulfillment of promises, and a celtic know with the letters VXV standing for verse by verse bible studying, kind of the idea of this is where I find meaning.
I read a story about a guy who found God and felt God leading him to get tattoos, and he never cared for them before he was a christian. Since getting saved, and getting bible verses and things like that as tattoos though, he would find himself in a difficult situation, and find a bible verse on his arm or something that would be exactly what he needed to get through that time.
I'm a Christian and I have 2 tattoos. I don't regret either, especially because one says walk by faith.
While getting that tattoo how did that make you feel?? Did you feel as though what you was doing glorifying God?

So, no regrets, right?
Many Christians find that they can be effective in communicating testimony. So now I guess you, also, as a tattooed Christian, would agree.
Is the other tattoo faith based, as well?
Blessings.
The other tattoo is something that has to do with love and family, so I see see a connection between it and my faith as well.
Well, I see, yes.
So were your mom and dad pleased when they learned you were getting/had gotten tattoos with faith content? (I know you are old enough to make your own decisions; but anyway some Christian parents' reactions can vary; some might be a bit anxious; some would be delighted for you; reactions can differ a lot.)
Blessings.
Well I got them both when I was 16. So I had to have my parent sign for it. My mom was there with my and the one about love and family we both got as matching ones, and she was proud of my other one that said walk by faith. But my mom also isn't a christian.. And my dad wasn't in my life when I got them so I don't know what his reaction would have been. Although I lived with my grandparents, and they were my legal guardians. They didn't approve when they found out I was getting tattoos, but after I got them done and showed them they changed their mind and were okay with it because they knew they both meant something to me, and the fact that they were both small helped.
Keep praying for your mom!
So was it her first tattoo, as well?
I will!! And no she has like 16 ish. All of which she got before we got out matching one
Persevering prayer is so important.
So you and your mom weren't starting your tattoo journeys together, then, when you went for the first time to the parlor. Do you think now you are done getting inked? Blessings.
No, I want a few more, but still will have something to do with my faith!
