I just read this blog, and I read the introduction to their blog. And it really made me think.

What if people started making changes in their lives out of the love for their self, as opposed to hate?

Like, say you have a bad habit or something. YOU fill in the blank. It can bring you down and makes you feel miserable for whatever reason. A lot of people usually say, "I hate myself so much. I have this issue. It does this and that in my life. I feel like I'll never get free until I get this fixed. ONLY then, will I be able to love myself."

Instead of saying that, what if we started saying to ourselves, "You know, I realize I have this problem or insecurity. I can see how looking at myself this way or doing this thing is not the way I should live my life. Regardless of this, Jesus loves me the same. Through this, I'm learning to love myself in spite of my flaws. Because I want to love myself and want to take care of myself, with God's help, I can and will overcome this issue. I will get closer to God through this time of change and challenges." I can only hope someday I'll be able to think like this.

Thanks. Those are actually my feet/shoes, my mom took the picture. :) I love Converse shoes. The ones in the picture are ones I've had for about 4 years and I'm probably due for another pair, they are very tattered and have holes. That's what makes them awesome, though. :p Where do you work that you get to wear converse??
I should have phrased my original sentence differently. I wear converse to and from work, but I can't wear them while at work. I basically work for a railroad so anytime I do work outside of my office I have to wear steel toes, hard hat etc.

I do quite enjoy driving with my converse shoes though....a very good pedal feel. Not many shoes get the privilege to drive my car. haha I do need to get a real pair though, I just hate the idea of shoe shopping though. Maybe when I get a gf that will be my first shopping date. haha :p

In other news this is totally true of my life right now. So many people getting engaged, or married, or having babies, and i'm just over here like: "I love my car and snowboard".

Yes. And God created cats to teach us humility.
Actually, my old man insists this assertion with cockroaches rather than cats. And it makes sense.

Man has conquered nearly every extreme of his habitat.

The highest point on ground, where the air is virtually non-existent and the temps are freezing? Everest isn't even a challenge.

In short time, we'll have constructed a submersible strong enough to carry a man to the deepest ocean crevasses.

We've split the atom; we've harnessed sunlinght, wind, and wave for our own means; we manufacture diamonds; we grow entire organs from a petri dish.

People willingly live and thrive at the base of active volcanoes. Others willingly live and thrive above the Arctic circle. Others live beyond our very atmosphere, looking upon the Earth from a space station. We fly as fowl, swim as fish, and adapt to all needs.

We have subdued every creature God has placed here with us, save one.

A week after Hiroshima had been annihilated by the most devastating weaponized power we created, eggs that had survived the blast hatched, and cockroaches carried about their normal business, despite radiation levels that were still killing the humans who were nearby.

Humans - 0, roaches - 1.

Well played, Lord.

ha.......I didn't understand what you said. :) What is ESPN's end-of-game wrap-up?...... :)
it's a type of show where jocular "sportscasters" and over-the-hill athletes appear for the express purpose of picking apart a sporting event (thus reliving their glory days) replete with catch phrases, computerized drawing, and multiple replays, usually in slow motion. : )

and that's a sports wrap-up. back to you bob!

Very cool. How comfortable are Converse shoes? Because, honestly I've never worn a pair. But I do associate the shoes with R.L. Stine's Goosebumps books from the 90's.
They're not too bad, rather comfy, but very little support. I bought some inserts that helped a bit, then again I have low foot arches. They also tend to make my feet feel cold, oddly (unless it's very warm outside or I wear a fuzzy pair of socks). Possibly because they have holes in the side and no cushioning on the sides either so there's not much between my feet and the air. You should try them, I bet you'd like them! They're just as handy as any other shoe at killing giant Aussie spiders, I'm sure. :p

Goosebumps! I never read those books, but I remember them.
