1 Corinthians 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies.
Well, perhaps not, but I am sure it certainly helps. I've never heard of a single instance of an atheist seeing God. However, I know of the opposite sometimes happening. The best recorded instance of this is probably Mother Teresa. Toward the end of her career she lost all sense of the presence of God in her life and began questioning his existence.Cycel I would like to enter in here and say no you do not have to believe first to see Him. There are reports of non-believers world wide all of a sudden starting to have visions of our Lord.
The last time I checked atheists don't sacrifice animals to gods. Next time you might want to drop that part about idols from your argument as it makes clear that the point is being addressed to pagans, not to atheists.1 Corinthians 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. This reminds me of our earlier discussion about God being like a good shepherd who cares more for the lost sheep than for the one who has not gone astray. Then someone always comes along and says God cares more for those who accept him on faith than on those who think he doesn't exist. It seems to me Christians really shouldn't try to have it both ways.Believing certainly helps. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Yes, but they certainly have idols in their hearts i.e. money, sex, cars, life, themselves, their careers. For instance, my point would be that if you look to the very existence of life as evidence of God, it helps if you already believe in God. Atheists won't see life as evidence for God.
If I witnessed a disembodied hand writing on the wall, as in Daniel, I might come to believe. You see, Homeward, that would be an example of a true miracle. Are you sure? As they swore the handwriting on the wall was a forgery

Mother Teresa wrote a series of letters over a number of years to her spiritual advisers, as she had no one else to share the deep sense of emptiness that came to consume her. She later asked that the letters be destroyed, instead they were released for publication.I have not heard that about Mother Teresa, but then again the Catholics like to try to hide stuff and make people out to be more divine than others.
That is all I expect as well.I think the chances are the only sign you will get is the preaching of repentance...
The answer is obviously 'we dont know' .
What is your point exactly, pointing our things we don't know does not necessarily nullify things we do know. Neither does it support any other theory.

The damage tends to be overstated. A friend, who once took me out on his sail boat, asked my opinion on what damage the Sun might do his eyes. He'd heard that permanent damage would result from staring at the Sun, and to test the claim he'd tried a number of times to stare at the Sun while on his boat, without suffering any apparent harm. I told him of the case of two drunks who watched a solar eclipse without protecting their eyes. What I heard is that they suffered some temporary vision impairment until their retinas had recovered from the sunburn they'd received. Though perhaps a more remote danger would be eventual cataracts. There are many bright lights in the known universe. The nearby sun is one of them. You can permanently damage your eyes by gazing at the sun and other bright lights.
No? Well it would be a good place for him to hide.nl said:For those looking for God with telescopes, perhaps you are missing Him because He is inside the bright lights. Actually, that's not quite the way that it is..
I've heard this before, but I don't trust the authority of the writer.nl said:"God is light" (1 John 1:5)
This isn't atheism. It's an ignorant misunderstanding many people have about atheists.
LOL! Indeed my friend. Live long and prosper!May God be with you Cycel...I mean may the force be with you....No, No, aahh...Live long and prosper.
Sorry, but I think it is the tel-evangelists you have us confused with.breno785au said:Yes, but they certainly have idols in their hearts i.e. money, sex, cars, life, themselves, their careers. Something that no man is immune to do be doing in their heart.
Hope this help. The above site also has suggestions for answers to all other questions you may copy from that interview including references.
Mustapha, I don't know. Plain and simple. Difference between you and me is, because I don't know I won't automatically attribute something to a god.
