Today I am reminded of why I rarely go to the hair salon. Since when is "a trim" equal to four inches of hair? At least it looks healthier now.

i'm sorry.

yeah, i can imagine how annoying that would be. usually i have the opposite problem -- no one wants to cut the (large) amount of hair i tell them that i want off. or they try to talk you into something you're not interested in.

a several years ago, i got some gum in my hair (don't ask how) and i ended up hacking it out with a pair of scissors in frustration. i was fully expecting to have some obvious sign of this panicked chopping of hair.

ehhhhh. no one could even figure out where i cut a bunch of hair out.

curly hair hides a multitude of ineptitude. : )

I've only had apples and peanut butter and a handful of caramel corn and I feel like I've ate a feast today. Too weird.

well, apparently, I will be able to add "studio musician" to my resume.

I just got asked to play horn on tuesday. I'll be sight-reading some stuff that I am told is "simple." We shall see. Not much pay, but some, and I would actually do this for free - - a great experience. Got another ballet orchestra gig lined up with the same group I did "Nutcracker" with last year.

I've been reaaally seeking God's will in reducing my hours to 80% at my job to focus on some music business things....with my recent Lutheran Church position and french horn gigs becoming more common, I wonder if God is pushing me in this direction as well. I don't like that I've grown complacent in some areas. It seems like yesterday that I was separated with no job, and in "survival mode." The thought of any lifestyle change is kind of scary.

Story of my life. -.- I've been wary of hair stylists ever since I went in asking for a trim and she chopped off a foot of hair. I still don't understand...

We have decided that they are scissor crazy. It seems like an addiction... more inches, more inches. LOL. Sadly, once that first snip is taken and you realize what has happened, it's too late to stop it. Terms like "I want to keep it long" and "I just need a trim" seem lost on them. The woman who cut it had very short hair so perhaps she does not understand the painstaking process of growing long hair.

My hair was waist length and now it reaches my shoulder blade. Live and learn!

Catherder, I'd send a pic but I am about to leave for the gym and it's now in a ponytail. :p

He's so sensible, he's so beautiful, he plays the violin in the church. He's got that smile that makes me weak every time I see him. I wish I wasn't so shy...

My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

Thank you to those of you who have been praying for me. I hope to finish the project I have been working on tomorrow and have some answers soon.

To those of you who are as majorly stressed out as I am, praying for peace and direction for you.

To Catherder: Good news. Congrats

To Misty: I hope you had a blast at the pool. It's awesome that at least one person on this thread did today. :)

Lil Christian: My heart and prayers are with your family. Continuing to pray. No matter what comes, the anchor holds.

This is a personal favorite song of mine. Thank you so much for it.

I also wanted to tell you how helpful your threads have been to me the past couple of days. Very helpful.

Yesterday I found out from one of the preschoolers that we shouldn't be afraid of Bigfoot because we live in Pennsylvania and his Mom says that Bigfoot only lives in Oregon, good to know.

just_monicat, I was really struggling with various things tonight, just felt very...down, lost, numb, alone. Then I read your signature and for some reason...it kept me sane. Moral of the story: You never know who your post will help on CC. Even if it's not directed at them at all.

Copying and pasting here just in case you decide to change it in the future and someone looks back on this post and thinks, "Uh, just_monicat's signature is about fluffy pink pigs, how did that help Rachel?" :p

It is Christ who is to be exalted, not our feelings. We will know Him by obedience, not by emotions. Our love will be shown by obedience, not by how good we feel about God at a given moment.

And love means following the commands of God. "Do you love Me?" Jesus asked Peter. "Feed My lambs." He was not asking, "How do you feel about Me?" for love is not a feeling. He was asking for action.
