Never had any pals cook me dinner on Valentine's Day. What planet is this that your people come from Monica?:)

a friend who i don't get to spend much time with was free, and so we just decided that since we're both single (and because it's a friday) we'd spend it together catching up.

*If I may suggest a few of my fav romantic films ever...Love Actually,or perhaps Notting Hill.*

actually, i was being facecious about the romance film. but believe it or not, i've never seen Love Actually. : )

i think i was boycotting romance films when it came out. but i'll have to check it on your recommendation.

and the reality, is, i will probably end up in a sugar daze, zoning out (or passing out) while watching a documentary called The Genetic Evolution of the Pond Scum.

My alumni university called me tonight asking for a donation for a scholarship. I was kind to the caller, because I know they are just doing their job (and it's usually students), but this pretty much sums up my thoughts:

(I don't owe anywhere close to 80k, but I owe...enough)

hahahahaha..oh man that cracked me up...pond scum. Good times..Good times.

Well truth be known,I'm not huge on romantic films, but Love Actually was a very well put together film, and some really sweet moments. It focuses on many differnt people,so the story isn't all just about 1 couple, which I think makes the story more interesting.

So what no pot roast & apple pie??? Just gonna go into sugar shock,eh? lol

Vanilla ice cream with the apple pie or whipped cream???

I'll take dub dub over dumb dumb any day!! hahaha Well I have this valentines day tradition where I buy 12 roses and throughout my day I give one to a random person these are usually people who I THINK are least likely to get a valentine present from someone or people who I think are under appreciated the trick is - they have to be strangers friends and family do not count.

Then I hope to go see the new Vampire Academy movie... it's finally releasing for us tomorrow... then lunch with some friends... dinner with family and a skype movie with my special someone we're probably going to watch something nerdy though lol
:o

that's a really sweet tradition that you have. so thoughtful. my dad sends me a really sweet valentine's day card every year.

though i had to laugh, because i started thinking about how anonymous gifting could backfire. if someone did that to me, my mind would start racing a million miles an hour wondering (or worrying) who gave it to me.

*draws the shades*

secret admirer used to be such an innocently sweet thing. i don't know now.

oh no, pot roast first. carrots, potatoes and such...

a'la mode of course. who passes up a chance for ice cream?

since i so seldom have sweets (wheee! alliteration!) i have a rather low tolerance. i'll pretty much hit mach 10 with a rather small amount.

and next is the inevitable sugar spazz-out and sugar crash.

and yeah, i'm pretty much fascinated by most anything. put it in a documentary? good times.

I attended an all girls high school and I remember some girls crying because they got nothing for Valentines day while others got so many.. that's when I decided to start doing this.. if I made one person happy then my work is done!

I think it's cool that your dad sends you a card...it's an awesome idea! I've never been a huge fan of this holiday because of how sad it makes some people but I roll with it either way lol

I stopped getting Valentines a long time ago. I really don't care too much for Valentine's...Valentine's Day has become commercialized and twisted and people don't even know what it's about anymore. It's worse than the commercialization of Christmas. Don't believe me? Tell me who the holiday was based off of and his history.

Last night, I was visiting with some friends. Right in the middle of it, I started feeling like I was coming down with a cold. When I got home, it was full blown. I was really shocked how suddenly it came on. Usually when I get colds, it's rather gradual, but this was all at once.

I'm traveling this weekend. 12 hour round trip drive. This will be interesting.

I do fight off loneliness quite often. Sometimes I wish I could fill that with a guy (emphasis on the word sometimes. 90-95% of the time I'm content with where I am as far as being single goes). Especially since I'm getting older. By this age, my oldest sister already had a sort-of boyfriend, then not too long after he was gone she got a real boyfriend (then a year later they broke up).

Maybe some people are just in love with the concept of falling in love. And I think sometimes, I fall prey to that.

ii'm sorry if how i sounded like i was in any discouraging what you do on v-day. it's thoughtful and sweet and i'm sure works beautifully to lift the spirit of it's intended recipient.

i was joking, really. sometimes this medium leaves a lot to be desired - no inference, gesture or even tone of voice to communicate intent. : ) i really do have a warped sense of humor.

No way!! I didn't think that at all lol I'm just one of those girls who thinks it's silly to show love on one day I think it should be every day. Not as in extravagant dinners or gestures but simply taking the time to show others that you care and spend a few minutes cheering them up and such but I'm weird like that ;)

So, the town next to me has no water. They had to shut it down because of issues, and it may not be fixed for upwards of 2 weeks (worst case scenario, I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long). My town is fine, but I work in the one with no water. This means we can't use the restroom, or wash our hands. If we need to go to the bathroom, we have to drive to Sterling. I usually go somewhat often because I drink a lot of water. We were told not to drink too much water tomorrow because of this, but I'm sick and need water more than ever.

Maybe we'll close... A girl can dream. :P

So a few years ago I was supposed to be freaked out because the winters were warmer, now I'm supposed to be freaked out because winters are actually like winter.

Can the "scientists" please make up their minds?

You're right homwardbound, last time after watching the Passion of Christ. I kept crying AFTER the movie for the stupid sin that crucify Jesus Christ more and more everyday especially after seeing it with my own eyes n' couldn't even look for the whole scene. I remember the actor was talking in an interview saying that during shooting the movie Passion of Christ, the torture scene they were putting a piece of wood on him so as nothing would touch his body while they're shooting. But accidentally the wip came on his body and he says it was SO painful but he said it made me feel how much Christ bare for us if I couldn't stand this small pain....

Sometimes the reality of what he went through for us needs to be heartfelt, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say who can go to that extreme? Christ did for you, me and all the world, waiting patiently for us to come to beleive God the Father through him and grow up unto God the Father in all things. Anyone who loves me that much, how can I refuse to believe?

1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
