I remember the old days when America tried doing good in the world by over turning oppressive and intrusive Communist governments. Yet now in our attempts to overcome oppression\injustice\inequality in our own borders we're slowly becoming like those Communist governments we tried to overturn.

Do we no longer fight communism in Cuba, and North Korea simply because the differences between us and them is slowly becoming less and less?

I'm really thankful for the people I got to serve with today at church, especially an exchange student from Japan from whom I learned many things. She was the sweetest high schooler I've ever met haha. It was a humbling reminder that I shouldn't consider my younger sisters/brothers in Christ less equipped for ministry. I tend to think high schoolers are too immature, even though I was a high schooler not too long ago. I was wrong and I'm glad I was!

It was a good day :)

Foods for thoughts...

Its time to face the enemy we fear most, ourselves. :)

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

I'm aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !

BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED COMMENTING.

Thinking about going to church service tonight, feeling full of dread and anxiety when I think about it. I enjoy the church, but there will be people there that I have not spoken to in over a year. I feel shame for letting the communication drop. My old psych prof goes there and I know she is concerned that I stopped going to university. I guess what I am afraid of the most is small talk with people of my past- feels like I have to confront my past and that means I feel shame. Shame for my actions. That I've let people down. That I must account for my actions. And I'll be left without anything to say.

i'm a total smell junkie, so i've got to ask. what flavors? or rather, what were the good ones?

i have this grapefruit one that i keep smelling (at my bedside table). the citrus i seem to handle pretty well. it's all the fake floral ones that do me in.

i have a thing for the pacifca candles/scents, latelyl.

Drown already Jack! Whatcha waiting for, Christmas?

It did indeed seem as though it took Jack forever to just drown...but I guess that was the point,to really milk that scene for all it was worth. I used to go to church with this young married couple & his wife was bonkers over that film. I kid you not, when I tell you they converted an old sun room into a Titanic shrine. She had memorabilia,posters...you name it. He showed me the room once when I was over, and said.."See...here it is...I told you I wasn't kidding" I was like "Wow!..well on the bright side dude...at least she doesn't collect Precious Moments figurines." He just looked at me & said "Yeah,I guess that's something."

I think I either need a nap or some baked goods. Ohhhh I forgot I have Klondike Bars left!
