Well I just had a terrifying experience driving to work. My breaks locked or seized or something. They were working then I breaked at a red light but they stuck, I tried to pump them and I went right through the light. Thank God I missed hitting a truck.

Thank God,indeed! Scary stuff. I slammed head-on into a Giant tow truck once on an icy road..long story, but yeah...glad you are ok. Say a prayer for me that I don't die on my commute to work today. It's nasty out there, and people in Maine drive like animals. They don't signal, they run red lights as though the colour red means "pedal to the metal"...ugh!
I despise cars. They are awesome to look at,but I think they are a blight to society.

Gimme a trusty steed any day of the week! (or a Vespa) Yeah,I said Vespa...it's the Italian in me. lolz

Will do!

Apparently this isn't the first time my mom said. It went down to -43 lastnight and I guess it effected the break fluid and I don't have Anti-lock brakes :s

So this temporary filling stuff is supposed to harden over the course of 2-3 hours (as it reacts with your saliva, apparently)...it's been an hour, and it STILL feels like a blob of silly putty...a wet, sloppy blob of silly putty.

Anyone else use this stuff?

I've used it on occasion. It does take longer than it says to harden up. But once it does it stays put.

This will probably sound lame to many of you, but I'm really proud of something I accomplished today. I actually hooked up an electronic device to my TV for my kids. I am usually horrible at those things, so doing that was a huge accomplishment for me. Now my husband won't have to do it and he'll be happy.

I just know it's Christ's birth and that's really the important thing but, yeah, I'm into holiday stuff too, I think, the Lord leads me in that way, so, getting my nephew Dr Who and Lego video xbox 360 game stuff and my nieces polly pockets and Hug Me Elmo and Tabeos. It's good to show love in this way, I think, as I think, those who rebuke Christmas and presents are being not in the world and we are to be "in the world ,"Jesus says, just not "of the world." And, don't EVER think you are in some exclusive Christian club, our love is NEVER to condemn someone to hell because they are a not a Christian, for that is NOT love :( ; Scripture says not to do 'condemn of others' either, that's Christ's wholly. I will show anyone who wants to see an actual verse , too. :)

And, yeah, just saying, celebrating Christmas is a sacrificial act in a monetary sense. And we should all want to sacrifice, right :)

Christ said to be crucified in Him, so, we should want to be doing that kind of sacrifice for our life.

More so, we should really show actual love to our family too this time of year, let them know we are Christians by our love :)

I did something to my back and it hurts. So I gave in today and called my Doctor for a muscle relaxant. I usually go to the Chiropractor but I couldn't go this week.

I shouldn't shovel heavy snow but I didn't have much choice. I just want to get this pill in me and hopefully get rid of this pain.

Scary scary Arwen,
If I may make a suggestion toward your safety, theres the great possibility there could be water in the brake lines.
Over the years moisture can accumulate in them as brake fluid is Hygroscopic-(absorbs moisture from the air)
When it freezes the water it can act like a one way check valve until the water in the lines warms up and act like normal again.
It would be a good idea to have the brake system bled completely until all fluid comes out clean and clear
Bad flexible brake lines can also do this, the inner lining collapsing and also acting like a check valve not letting the brakes release.
Wouldn't want ya to get in a wreck :)

Thanks! If my car doesn't end up getting written off from being hit a few weeks ago, then I will take it to get checked/bled.

other day I seen a old 70s cadie get nailed by a 2012 honda.. cadie was able to drive away. honda was trashed.. if the hit would have been more head on by the honda driver would be dead (driver clipped the caddie at and angle) engine ended up in the passanger seat..

Oh yeah, them older vehicles like a Caddy were robustly built
Even the body steel was thicker, used to be able to use a lag bolt to mount your mirrors on
Now ya gotta use like an expanding drywall insert so it dont strip out.

Not me man, I'm still stuck in the 70's 80's era when it comes to that.
Parts are cheaper, and you can pretty much diagnose what went wrong before opening your door then fix it on the side of the road with a doctor bag size tool kit.
