Because he is the False Prophet, the First Beast (from the Sea) spoken of in Rev 13. He came into office on 3/13/13. He will speak blasphemies (which he is already doing). He will be loved and worshiped and followed by all those who don't recognize him for the Evil servant of Satan that he is.
Pope Francis will pave the way for the False Messiah, the 2nd Beast mentioned in Rev 13. We have about 33 months before life as we know it on this earth will change, actually it can start to change any day now.
As for Francis reaching out to Muslim, yes of course he does, Jews too. He helps unite the whole world then deceives them.

They've done worse than Pope Francis and Edward Snowden. Time awarded Hitler the prize in 1938 and Stalin it in 1939. Nothing against Pope Francis and Snowden but enough said, I don't bother with Time magazine except to start the fireplace with. This is an Internet age. We have better sources of information now.

Not really. His intentions were already pretty clear by 1938. In 1924 Hitler wrote 'Mein Kampf' ('My Struggle') that contained his political ideology and future plans for Germany. In 1933, when he came to power, Germany was transformed from a democratic into a police state. Concentration camps were hastily erected to 'purge society of undesirable elements.' People had no right to a fair trial, they were imprisoned, tortured, exexuted for political and ideological reasons. 1938 Also say the beginning of 'Heim ins Reich' ('Home into the empire'), the foreign policy that was aimed at 'returning' territories inhabited by 'ethnic germans' to the 'Greater Germany.' 1938 Already saw the invasion and annexation of Austria and Sudentenland (in Czechia).
