Like they did in July 1954, you mean? Or June 1967? Or September 2001? And these are just the times they got caught out. A lot of times, the criminals probably got away with it. With friends like these, who needs enemies? :D
But it would take actually doing research on history to know about these events..

That's true. Who needs history when we have the likes of John Hagee to tell us what already happened? :D

ya think?
it's really a brilliant system. in an astonishing way.

i wonder who would want men to believe Jesus Christ did not come
when He was prophesied to; accomplish what He came for; denying He was and is Messiah.
Sounds like that ole sneaky snake himself. . .

even allied countries have been known to do violence against each other at times...for example see the 'rainbow warrior' incident...

the bible does say that the people of this world deal shrewdly with each other...even when they are friends apparently...

The thing is, the examples that were given were between the State of Israel and the United States.

A beyond ridiculous observation. It wasn't "annulled" Brad. It was FULFILLED in the God/Person of Jesus Christ ! The mystery of the gospel is that "God's favor" now rests upon all who believe in the Son ... both jew and gentile alike. Would you kindly address what "favor" God bestowed upon those jews who have died in unbelief these past two-thousand years ?
None, upon those who died in unbelief. Can you tell me why Jews are going back to Israel every single day? According to some of your friends, these Jews are going back to be part of the great whore. Are you with them on that as well or is that also ridiculous? Do you also believe that those of Israel (present or future) who are in unbelief will never see the second coming of Christ? If they never become a witness of his second coming, then they will all have been destroyed before his return. But, if they witness his second coming how will they respond? Is there any record in scripture concerning Israel or the Jews rejecting Christ at his second coming or showing us that they have been destroyed? What does the record of scripture say about Israel and the Jew's respond to Christ coming for the second time, can you bare a true record of that Unclefester?

Agreed. Just pointing out the folly of relying on the country known as Israel for support, as some sort of justification for (pre-emptive?) war.

Jeremiah 17:5 - 8 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Israel's anxiety as Jews prefer Germany - Telegraph

Israel's anxiety as Jews prefer Germany
By Harry de Quetteville
12:01AM BST 14 May 2008 (Berlin)

Israel officially celebrates its 60th birthday this month, but Amnon Seelig's grandparents were in the Holy Land well before May 14, 1948.

Like many other Jews in the first decades of last century, they were Zionists, building a life for themselves in Palestine. And while the ideology of Theodor Herzl may have been inspiration enough for many Jews, 26-year-old Amnon's grandparents had a powerful additional motivation to start anew in what was to become Israel.

"My grandparents lived in Berlin," he recalled. "There they witnessed the emergence and rise to power of Hitler and the Nazis, and suffered the stifling and sinister effects of German anti-Semitism."

For Mr Seelig's grandparents, Israel was - even before its creation - a refuge from a tyrannical and ultimately murderous Germany. The Seeligs put down roots there. Their children were born in Israel. Amnon himself grew up in the outskirts of Tel Aviv, capital of the nation his grandparents helped to build.

But, while he wears a gold Star of David on a chain around his neck, he does not live in Tel Aviv any more. "I moved to Germany 18 months ago," he said, "and I'm not planning on moving back to Israel any time soon."

In his decision to leave Israel, to beat a path in the opposite direction to his grandparents, he is not alone. Many Israelis have also chosen to leave, and are now living and working in Europe or America.

"Israel's greatest concern at the moment is that there have never been more Israelis living abroad," said Rabbi Walter Homolka, principal of the Rabbinical Seminary in Berlin. He described it as a "brain drain" and said Germany was one of the "biggest expat centres".

In addition, many Jews who once might have considered emigrating to Israel - making their Aliya - have in the past few years been choosing to head to Germany instead.

In 2003, for example, 12,383 Jews reportedly chose to emigrate from the former Soviet Union to Israel. But 15,442 went to Germany. The latter country, which had conceived the idea of eliminating Jews altogether just 60 years previously, was more enticing to them than the promised land itself.

Such a powerful wave of immigration has multiplied Germany's Jewish population tenfold from the 20,000 or so at the time the Berlin Wall fell.

But the decision by Soviet Jews to choose Germany over Israel has been cause for serious friction between the two countries. Israel lobbied hard - and ultimately successfully - to persuade Germany to end its generous immigration laws for Jews which encouraged hundreds of thousands to head to the reunited European state after the collapse of communism.

Israel's concern is prompted in large part by the word "demographics", which has become a hot topic in the Holy Land. Israel may define itself as the Jewish state, but more than a million of its citizens are Arab Muslims. They have a higher birth rate than Jews, and many in Israel worry that their country's Jewish identity is being diluted. This has inspired headlines warning of a "demographic time bomb".

For some Jews in Berlin, however, the demographic time bomb is only half of the reason that Israel, on it 60th birthday, is so sensitive to a revitalised Jewish diaspora.

The other factor, they say, is that with Jewish life flourishing, even where it was all but erased by the Holocaust, Zionism's very raison d'être is being challenged.

More and more synagogues, as well as Jewish cafés, museums and schools are opening in Germany, and even in Poland. Amnon Seelig sings in the Munich synagogue choir every Shabbat.

"Israel is in a really difficult position with immigration now, because people ask 'what is the role of Zionism today?'," said Rabbi Homolka. "The Jewish community in Berlin makes the argument that it is valid to stay here, in Germany."

In fact for Jews in Germany such as Amnon Seelig, or Anita Zadig, whose family moved to Germany from Donetsk in what is now Ukraine, Israel has a very clear role. Both described it as a "safety net" - a place of refuge to which they could run if the horrors of European anti-Semitism emerge again.

Otherwise, they say, they will stay away, in part put off by a life in Israel which even Rabbi Homolka concedes can be "so stressful". For Israel has come to define itself above all as a place of sanctuary for Jews, even in its most hostile neighbourhoods. From concrete walls advertised as anti-terror devices to secretive bombing missions on Syrian military facilities, its protective prowess is legendary.

In 60 years, Israel's political leaders and military planners no doubt hope that peace will have broken out and that they won't have to conduct such missions. But you can bet that they won't let their guard down in the meantime.

The fact that so many Jews have chosen to move to the home of the Holocaust instead of Israel seems to show that such inspirational, bloody-minded endurance comes at a high price.

After all, even at the darkest moments, Amnon Seelig's grandparents knew that Israel should be about building more than just a bunker.

the united states has not always been completely benevolent towards israel either...it works both ways...
I'm not sure the US have committed acts of terrorism on Israeli soil, or perpetrated false flag attacks in attempts to get Israel into foreign wars (although, I believe they may have done this for other countries).

Either way, such facts are even less reason to buy into the excuses of preventive war and mutual support, if you must accept such worldly justifications for murder.

Do you have a problem with that because it came from the mouth of a preacher? Some of you are just pacifists and you never got beyond your 'hippie dippie' culture. You probably still like the Beatles and all those other peaceniks. If Iran had the cooperation of the other Arab nations and a turning of the head from the UN, I don't think there would be much consideration on the Arabs part as to what to do about Israel. Here in the US we better not be pacifists when it comes to being Israel's allie when the enemy raises their ugly head and we better not fold under pressure from China and Russia and any of the other nations that would oppose us, even it is is Britian or France. Israel would not hesitate to support us if we needed their help, you can count on it.

In the Name of the Lord, Eternal God

To The Honorable Mr. George W. Bush,
President of the United States of America,

Who comes seeking the presence of the Most High God, to Jerusalem, city of God, Divinely chosen site of the Holy Temple, eternal capital of our land, "the joy of the entire earth (Psalms 48:3)," may it be rebuilt and established speedily and in our days, Amen!

Esteemed Mr. George W. Bush, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Ezekiel 38:1), leader of the west!

Upon your arrival in Jerusalem you have the ability to make a declaration, as did Cyrus, King of Persia - whose memory is honored - who in the year 538 BCE returned the exiled nations to their lands and recognized the full right of the Jewish people to reestablish their Holy Temple, the "house of prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7), and called upon them to return to their land,

And in the manner of Lord James Balfour of England, who in 1917, called upon the Jews to reestablish a national homeland in the Land of Israel.

And thus if you truly desire peace and benevolence, and you would be counted in the company of the truly righteous, we call upon you to declare to all the world:

The Land of Israel was bequeathed to the nation of Israel by the Creator of the world. Neither could I, as a son of my faith, nor the Muslims according to their faith, ever take away even the slightest grain from the Eternal's gift, which He gave to His people Israel, the eternal people. Thus I call upon all the nations to save themselves from certain doom, to return and recognize That this land is the exclusive rightful inheritance of the people of Israel, as is written in the Torah of Israel, which constitutes the very foundation of our faith, as well as that of Islam; and is the basis for the decisions of the community of nations. He who denies this truth endangers all life on earth.

I shall dedicate all my strength and resources towards settling the Jewish people throughout their entire land. I shall greatly encourage and empower the Jews all over the world to rise up to the Land of Israel and to settle it, to establish God's sanctuary in Jerusalem, to distance strangers from it and thus, I believe, I will be making a major contribution towards world peace.

I cannot simultaneously support the establishment of a foreign state for an alien nation in the Land of Israel, and I will not lend my hand to this wrong.

Or - Heaven forbid - you can choose the second option - to willfully aid in the destruction, under the guise of peace!

You certainly know what the God of Israel did to Egypt and Assyria and to all Israel's enemies from time immemorial: Do you imagine that you will be able to save yourself if you have come to implement a plan that intends to steal the land of "the people that survived the sword" (Jeremiah 31:1), and to cut off those who survived the Holocaust, to rob the land that was given to them by the Creator?

All of the peace treaties and initiatives which have been based upon the decisions of the government of Israel, indeed the entire Oslo process, and the 'Disengagement,' and the establishment of a terrorist state within the Land of Israel known as 'Palestine' - regrettably, all of these agreements are the result of a lack of sufficient faith in the Divine promises that the Lord made to the patriarchs of our nation, and all that is written in the Torah of Israel. Understand this well: the nations of the world cannot excuse their actions and their decisions on account of the weakness of Israel and her government. God ordained that the role of the nations of the world is to strengthen the nation of Israel. This will benefit all humanity and bring about world peace, as the prophets have foretold.

Do you imagine you can escape from the struggles in Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon, by offering up sacrifices of the Jews who are slaughtered daily by their enemies who speak of peace but live by the sword?

Upon your arrival in our land we would anticipate that you bring Jonathan Pollard home with you. Bring him home to Israel. He is an emissary of the State of Israel, and he acted on behalf of our people. Authorize his immediate release while you are yet in Jerusalem, before you return to the United States. This will be a positive step that will build confidence.

Remember our forefather Abraham, who pursued the world's four greatest kings in order to redeem his nephew from captivity. We cannot forget the deeds of our patriarchs, whose example guides us through every generation.

We are the loyal representatives of the Jewish people, the New Jewish Congress, and its court of law, the Sanhedrin, as well as the Temple and Temple Mount movements, but we merely reiterate herein what is public knowledge.

No government in Israel and no representative of the Jewish people has the power or right to alter, by even the slightest degree, our covenant with God and the words of our holy Torah, which are everlasting, as expressed by the prophets of Israel and even by the wicked prophet Balaam: "Then he looked on Amalek, and uttered his oracle, saying: 'First among the nations was Amalek, but its end is to perish for ever' (Numbers 24:20). Thus any desire, plan or agreement that challenges the eternal sovereignty and active possession of the nation of Israel over her entire land is utterly worthless, and has no basis in reality.

Therefore it behooves you to declare: "I, George Bush, Commander in Chief of the armies of the United States of America, will instruct all of my troops to protect the Divine rights of the nation of Israel, and remove from her any threat."

Before you is a choice: You can merit to eternal life, or be inscribed for eternal disgrace. Your fate and that of all those with you hangs in the balance of the destiny of our land.

"and you shall choose life!" (Deut. 30:19).

In Sincere Supplication - In the name of the Jewish people

What a disgusting and blasphemous letter. If this was an older generation, I like to think there's a good chance that letter would have received a sound biblical refutation, accompanied with an appropriate gift - the requested head of the traitor Pollard, with his body to be buried on land generously donated for the purpose by the US.

Or is this getting too mixed up in worldly affairs for Christians?

BCE is for "before Common Era"--not "before Christ". Sigh, why use Christ-denying terminology in the midst of scripture references?
