@ ServantStrike...................yes for now your air guitar abilities will have to suffice. Start savin' your pennies for an axe,my friend. lolz

@ Ugly.............................. I do remember you saying once before you didn't care for the last 2 newer Believer cd's,and yes...I actually heard the entire new Sacred Warrior cd last night & agree,it's not the same w/out Rey on Vox,but still a decent effort. Would have rather them release 11 new songs instead of 9 & just redoing 2 old songs. That's just a bit lazy to me. Yes I have seen that Saviour Machine show from a few yrs ago. UH-MA-ZING! Eric is da' bomb!

Oh yeah...funny...not that they are or were every I suppose "christian" but remember the band Trouble? They have a new cd out as well, and it's pretty stinkin' good. "Distortion Field" is the title.

I've been listening to a bunch of odd secular stuff lately...
"counterfeit ep" by Martin Gore / Halestorm / EZO / Johnny Cash / Primus / Kylesa and,old old Petra (yeah I know they're not secular.) lol

Trouble was considered 'white metal' before the term was applied to Christian metal. I guess most or all of the original members were Christian or Catholic, and their lyrics reflected their faith/upbringing. I'm not sure where they stand now though. But i remember at least one guy was a full blown Christian.

Well, Rey was on part of the album. He got through about half, i think. But that one ballad it's just really obvious.

Still yet to look into more Halestorm, but they were really good.

And umm.... why'd i get relegate to manager? Is it my lack of people skills? My lack of business knowledge? My poor phone skills? What did it?

Is the troll gone now? Can I come out of hiding?
I'm flattered to know I'm so powerful and scary that I forced you into hiding.

*polishes nails on shirt*

In all seriousness, it was asinine of me to come on here and talk smack.

I'm out.

I think one of the guys from Trouble actually did some work on a project Ted Kirkpatrick is working on right now. I heard them the first time last year, introduced by Dee Snider on a radio show no less, I really liked what I heard.

Halestorm is a killer, I tend not to listen to them real loud when I'm at home since I live with my parents, but they're hard not to listen to really loud :(

Yeah,Trouble I remember reading in the old metal magazines, someone in the band saying they were Catholic or somethin'. I know (because I own them) the first 3 albums have lots of biblical lyrics. (the 1st two having the most)...after Run To The Light (3rd album) they kinda drifted off into becoming a druggie type band. I own a few of those albums as well, and those they pretty much veered off talking about anything to do with God anymore, but I think they've slowly circled back a bit.

I had no idea about Ted K. & Trouble...I'll have to check that out. I really like Dee Snider...great guy actually.

Halestorm is totes a band that you have to listen to on 10,for sure. LOL

Ohhh it's turning into to a METAL-RIFFIC Sunday morning for sure. Freshly brewed coffee & Believer!
I will never forget the first time I heard this song... I about lost my mind. I looked over at my guitar player & I said "Tim...we are learning this song ASAP!" lol Kurt Bachman & company were like a breath of fresh air back then. I'd longed so much to find a Christian alternative to the secular band Destruction that I loved so much, and Believer in so many ways filled that hole. What really blew my mind was one time seeing a pic of thee band & I think the bass player actually was wearing a Kreator or Destruction t-shirt & I just remember thinking that was pretty cool.

LOL...just emailed this to my friend of 25 yrs. She's a total punk rocker but over the years she has finally caved in & now loves thrash metal as well. She teaches at a college in NY,and she's always talking about gender bias stuff. I see lots of women (ok,not lots) that are in thier 30's-40's that like "poser" metal...lol but where are all the chicks who like the heavy stuff??? Am I living in the wrong part of the country? You'd think East Coast = metal chicks...lol not the case. *sigh...man I'm old* laffin'

Most women prefer poser metal, it's sad. Missachu has a pretty good handle on real metal though.

Why would east coast = metal chicks? I'd tend to think more of the NY punk scene. West coast = metal chicks makes more sense with LA. But perhaps these are dated perceptions.

LOL yeah I got a friend request from her the other day..and I was like.."hmmm who is this?" Then I saw that she was posting stuff in here with you & Ugly about metal, and thought "well she can't be all bad then, now can she?" laffin' Such metal snobbery. I think poser metal is maybe just easier for women in general to relate to...I dunno..maybe they like the hairspray & makeup? lolz

Because of the HUGE metal scene in New England & NYC....but then you have all the Cali bay area thrashers...Testament,Forbidden,Exodus,Vio-Lence...etc.... LA had all the glam type metal,Motley Crue,Poison,etc...
You'll never be as dated as me my metal friend. lol (but yes..NYC was big for punk in the 70's...The Ramones,The Stooges, etc)

Only 'metal' scene i am aware of in the NE is metalcore. And, well, i guess i'd qualify most of that as poser metal.
Though i think the punk/hardcore scene was dominant on the east coast well past the 70s.
What exactly is 'poser metal'?

Just saying that New England has always had a huge metal scene, even back in the late 80's / early 90's..."poser" metal was always stuff like Poison,Ratt,Motley Crue...basically "hair bands"...but it's really an ignorant label, considering none of those bands ever considered themselves "metal"...so *pokes self* laffin'

Ummm...gee thanks "Mr. I have nothing better to do than make a post on a thread that has nothing to do with the topic at hand" Was this your introduction? Are we going to get a bible teaching now? I surely hope so. As none of us here have a clue about the reality of Jesus & what He has done for us. (hoping this is coming off as sarcasm,'cause ummm...it's meant to be)

this is why we like the rock music written by & sung by our brothers & sisters in Christ, as opposed to secular music.

I'm with Ugly, I classify poser metal as metalcore bands, even if there are still a couple I listen to, but even those I can't listen to a whole lot without getting bored. I can tell you right now Missachu is ok, because she is the first girl (or person) here that has posted an Elggibor song.
