I'm listening to The Departing by Armath Sargon right now...probably my favorite song of his, beautiful lyrically and musically. I would post the song from youtube, but last I checked it wasn't there I guess this will suffice for now...even though it's not black metal...or even metal for that matter...
Back on the metal topic (though admittedly not christian). Today I got a message from an old coworker saying they had something for me, and after church today was blessed with one of Rex Browns bass picks from when he was with Down. I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited.

I was wondering about that. You're younger than me... so i was a bit confused, haha. Guess that would explain it.
But yeah... 20 years ago... doesn't seem possible.
Never much of a fan of either. JP was ok, had some decent songs, though i tend to shy away from them. If i listened to them now, i'd probably appreciate their sound more. But eh, not likely i'll bother.
The problem with YM is that all he plays are scales and arpeggios, unless of course you're being sarcastic, which usually flies over my head, then just ignore this statement.
My sister is a Beatles fanatic, I never heard a whole lot I really liked other than Abbey Road, but they were great musicians
Yea, the thing about showing off is the song will be molded around the technique.
That's why Steve Vai and Y.M.'s songs are repetitive, and generally boring.
I haven't listened to a lot of Steve Vai's music, but what I heard I was impressed with the skill and found him a lot more interesting than Y.M. But I don't think it's something I'd sit down and listen to for a considerable length of time.

They both are monsters, but all they do is show off - to the detriment of the music.
Me? I like Tal Farlow.
Check that guy out,......him and Django Reinhardt.
