Thanks, everyone. :)

If anyone watches Tim Hawkins, this idea is from him, about how people say "Drive safely!" It's just a given. No one's gonna tell me "Drive reckless and tick people off!"

Or "Stop and eat if you're hungry!" Oh, I would have never done that on my own if you hadn't of reminded me!

I don't mean to mock you guys (it probably looks like that, bleh), I tell people "Drive safe, have fun!" all the time, but it's just kind of funny, when you think about it. :p

Oh...see, I told you to drive safe because I just figured you were one of those who gets all crazy behind the wheel....I mean, between your hot pink hair and your pierced lip and all that black you wear, I was just generalizing...

:D

I do tend to drive fast. Not crazy fast. Just a bit over what I'm supposed to. Especially when there's an epic song playing on my stereo. Whoops.

CatHerder, that's more like it. ;)

Hey!! I WAS that girl with the punk hair, dark make up, wore black, but not facial piercings. And I wasn't a crazy driver… unless you consider the previous story I told…

Okay, I'm just gonna shut up and exit stage right.

Never drive fast, just fly low ;) If you don't see this through your windshield, you're doing it wrong :) :

Actually, my standard response to the "Drive safely!" salutation is usually a deadpan, "Absolutely not. Going to drive as dangerously as possible."

I get the pastor's wife with that one every time. She gets mad because she keeps falling for it.

33 hours until my family and I leave for our trip! :D We're visiting family in Mississippi, but we're starting by flying into Houston and making various stops along the way.

I'm so excited. My immediate family is all I have up here in Alaska, which puts a great distance between us and every single extended family member. Trips to see them are so few are far between that when they come up, I might as well be a 5 year old on her way to Disneyland. ^_^

hi, littleChristone, I was thinking about that camp you told us you went to. I hope, pray, God taught you lots. And lots. And lots...

I know He did, He always does, He always is, it's simply up to us to listen :)

Please pray for my family this morning. My mother gets verbally abusive when she's stressed (especially towards me, I'm lucky like that) and as we prepare for our trip... She's stressing out. No amount of love or patience is able to calm her down but I'm trying my best anyway. :(

Made it safe and sound to Missouri. The last hour of driving was the hardest (10:30-11:30) so I really had to blast my music and focus. It wasn't a super restful drive, because my mind was going a million miles an hour on things I wish it wouldn't have. However, I did get to see a gorgeous sunset and drive with the windows down most of the way, which calmed me a bit.

I'm having a good time here. :)

You'll have to excuse the angle, it was hard to take a picture of a sunset out the other window while looking at the road and driving.

Just read this, I guess it's "too late" to pray since it's been 5 hours since that situation, but I'm still praying for you and your family!

Praying for you to see through, reacting through it with a joy and peace in your heart from God that permeates 100% through you.
I have found that when God does this through me in the middle of the battle it is like taking away the wood from the fire and it has no choice but to go out
[h=3]Proverbs 15[/h]New International Version (NIV)

15 A gentle answer turns away wrath,

but a harsh word stirs up anger.

So whoever the one is with the harsh words stirs up anger, more harsh words, and thus more and more again, and this is the way of most families.
So hope you see, how to trust God to just live in peace during the harsh words and I bet after awhile, the harsh goes away and even though you see it go. It will always come back at you to start you in harshness as well, this is the way of flesh, I call it a battle for control. Just look at the world, and see it for what it is. And just relax, from rebuke, you are accepted in the beloved
Ephesians 1:6
to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

Since you see you are this by God and from God, what need do you have to be accepted by anyone? And when you are calm from any harsh words, how can they continue and if they do, they no longer effect you.

Yesterday I took my kids to an amusement park called Waldameer. We have season passes this year and it's been great. It's not a huge park, but it's a good size. There is a water park and a regular riding park. So we met my friend and her twin daughters at the water park, of course this always sounds like a good plan, but every kid wants to do something different, so this never works out as planned. Although they wanted to go on this water ride called the lazy river, so me being the only adult swimming took 4 kids on the lazy river, you just float around on an inter-tubes. So we get in, all 4 kids float away before I even get in my inter-tube. I look at my friend and say, sorry. She understood, so kids and me floating somewhere. 5 Minutes later we are out in the riding part of the park. Riding all day, my very dramatic daughter asking all day, can I have, this, this, this, this, this, this and that. Me no, no, no, no, no, no and no. So she starts this dramatic meltdown of all meltdowns. So I sit us on a bench and let her melt. I say, stop or we are going to leave. My son says, settle down. I ignore her. I watch her actually squeeze a tear out of her. I've never seen anyone do this before I am amazed.

I meant tear out of her eye. She worked so hard to get this tear out. It was really amazing.
