On the topic of Catlynn's new avatar (of which I have no complaints, but am using to make an observation):
I can only speak in terms of women, because I don't browse men's profiles, but on dating sites like Match, CM, and OKC, I have noticed a very common trend: the selfie in the car. (Or SUV, or truck, whatever.) I am curious as to the prevalence of this phenomenon - did all the women get together one day and say, "Hey, lets all come up with a common place to take a selfie! Someplace other than the water closet, ya know?" And then someone suggested on merry-go-rounds and carousels, and a bunch of girls vetoed it, because ain't nobody got time for that. Then another woman suggested Chinese restaurants, and then some people grumbled about their imaginary MSG sensitivities. But someone with some sass spoke up and said, "I like selfies when I'm in the front seat of a car! Passenger or driver, either is good!" And after a few seconds of heads tilting slightly as the women thought about it, along with a couple of harrumph-harrumphs and rabble-rabble-rabbles, someone naturally invoked Robert's Rules and motioned that selfies from the front seat of a motor vehicle would be the new de facto, following the bathroom/bedroom mirror, of course.
I mean, that's how it plays out in MY mind. Again, there could be just as many men doing the car selfie, but I wouldn't know.
(Once more, not complaining about Catlynn's avatar. There are far worse things in the world to look at than Catlynn's face, I assure you. Just using it as a springboard to inquire upon something that I am confused about.)
