I miss my wheels of steel... Mom's coming to town tomorrow, but she wouldn't have room for them in the car... she's already bringing me a gold velvet chair from the 1960's that has always been part of my life... It matches my house (1968) and my gold velvet couch (196x). Anyone else like the vintage look?

Dude...up until I was 17 we had a gold velvet chair but my Mom's cat destroyed it. LOL I like the retro look...if it's done well.
 
sweet thing about summer... put the slow cooker in the laundry room, or properly covered on the porch (front porch, dog 'ld get it in the back yard) and I can cook all day without heating the house up a lick. If you've got a garage, that works good, too.
 
I just survived a cotton blizzard...barely. It's in my hair. It's up my nose. I ate some accidentally.


 
LOL Miss C...ohh I hate those...it's like being chased by a swarm of pesky fluffy aliens.


Matt...I marinated some beef in some pineapple teriyaki,chopped up some cabbage & onions...then when it's done,putting it over a bed of rice with some saffron. Very easy peasy & I don't have to cook dinner for a few nights now. BooYah! lol
 
now ya got me wondering about what sorta chunks of meet are in the deep freeze...
I know there's a whole chicken and two 15 lbs pork loins... i want to save those 3 for the smoker... also good for cooking without heating the house up!
I think i may have a couple beef roasts left... those need eating.
the hams can both stick around a while...

Dang... I forgot about those new york strip steaks... good grass fed Angus that I'd seen walking around when they still could moo.

I gotta clean out the deep freeze...
or at least rotate my stock...

I wish yall lived closer... we could cook us up a mess of something and call it a weekend.

You think like I did when I was a bachelor. Sounds good to.
 
When the pine tree in my front yard died... I wasn't surprised, and we took it down... it was a non-native species.

When the cottonwood died...
I rejoiced.

plus it made for good firewood.

It died right after we bought the place... I wondered if one of the neighbors poisoned it... all the grass around it died, too... took a while for anything to grow there. Like 3 or 4 years.

anyone ever put Roundup in a Waterballoon?
the higher you throw it, the bigger a circle of death it leaves in someone's front yard.

Ah, the things we though of back when we were dumb enough to want to get into trouble.
 
Cotton blowing everywhere is cool to watch from inside the house. Not fun to try to do yard work in. Feels terrible when it goes up your nose.

Getting attacked by cotton is never fun DED....never,I say! lol
