I don't know if it's just me, but from my experience every time I tell a guy that I am virgin and that I am waiting till marriage. They either run away or say they "respect that" but when we are alone they try to get me to give it up. Or if I do date it never last because they eventually expect sex.
So I started to think is being a virgin the cause for my singleness? Do you guys feel the same way sometimes?

....or then again the cause for singleness could be that I am crazy. ...crazy for Jesus that is..HAHA
Woops..Grammar correction for that title :)

Nah, the singleness is the cause of my virginity. :)
I think if I wanted to begin courting (part of why I'm single, I don't do dating), it would be difficult to find a gal worth the interest. I have very stricct and conservative (theologically conservative) beliefs that result in rejection by most young wimmenz. Just the word "courtship" is enough to keep most hip n' kewl chickas away. For the better too.

I intend to homeschool in the event that I must choose.
I am not a big fan of birth control.
Totally against abortion.
I am against a lot of "amenities" such as makeup, jewelry, tattoos, etc. Having them before is one thing, but with a ring on the finga betta be no more of that.
I believe the earth is 6k years old, worldwide flood, etc...
I am a committed Calvinist.

Limits the selection a lot, so that helps with the singleness/virginity issue. For the time being, it also is a matter of timidity. I am glad that I am slightly timid when it comes to the women folk. It makes it harder to sin.

I think the issue of bad apples depends on where you look. Start with the church goers.

Wow, you're gonna have a hard time with that one, but good luck on your quest.

Nothing wrong with being plain some days, but other days girls want to look pretty, which makes them feel good about themselves. That's how I am and many other girls as well.

That's not what should make us feel good, or pretty.

1 Peter 3:3-4

New International Version (NIV)

3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Wow, so this is awkward...so last week we had the thread about numbers and I said I didn't what a girl with high numbers...yeah the virgin thing is a negative too. I don't know, I have dated virgins and we never did anything which I'm fine with, but then they would inevitably bring up my sexual past, just out of curiosity/wanting to know if there were any issues, whatever I'm not opposed to talking about it. However long story short, I realized that all these girls who had grown up and stayed virgins tended to be from overly protective families and were rather naive. I don't want to deal with that in a marriage when the time for sex becomes appropriate. I know I'm terrible but this is why I will probably forever stay single, I'm just too picky.

Yes, your inner beauty should make you feel good, but just because someone puts on a little makeup and jewelry doesn't mean that is overshadowing the inner beauty, just enhancing it. It's nice to look... well, nice.

I will take this to PM. Normally I'm okay with derailing, but not this one.

How does modest make-up defile women?

He instructs women to develop their inner beauty first. It doesn't indicate that they are to look ugly but they are develop their inner character in a way that is pleasing to God. Just because a woman wants to make herself attractive that doesn’t mean that she’s promiscuous! Makeup and jewelry are acceptable if worn in moderation.A woman should not be so focused on her outer appearance to the point that she neglects her inner spiritual life.

I haven't been allowed to date so it has never arisen. But In the future, I would certainly save myself or marriage although I know for many males in our society this would prove a deal- breaker.

It is the ultimate cause of very few people's singleness. I'm sorry if it is for someone.

@ GIA "...they eventually expect sex."

your are a smart and challenging girl.

Don´t lose it. Once it is lost, as I said to my daughter, many would think "you are useless" or "I don´t trust that woman". And I´m talking from my culture views.

Before I was "Christian", I never touched chastity, becase I NEVER PLANNED TO MARRY. It was a wild life that I lived, and chastity is not a proof to loyalty who spares anyone from being cheated.

Many who are "virgins", in fact, long for many men, and that also happens to married women and men (namely adultery).

You´re not a thing! I hope God brings you the BEST "Mr Right".
