a.) even if they don't KNOW they have any such power
b.) even if they don't APPEAR to have any such power
c.) even if they never USE this power to actually do anything wrong.
d.) even if this power is COMPLETELY IMAGINARY and DOESN'T REALLY EXIST

Ah, but that description was given voice over a decade ago. The old Phil Donahue show featured a discussion about Racism. A black professor claimed those same characteristics that defined Racism was what made it impossible for blacks to be racists.
He taught courses on the subject.

Then there is this more contemporary era Rac..Professor.

race-ism - is inbred in every culture, according to one's individual circumstances,
pertaining to 'family/country-influence' first and foremost:

we now have the honor or be able to READ all of history and LOOK BACK what our ancestors have done
and how they have lived up until 'right-now'...this is 'the way of the world'...

BUT, those who have been called-chosen-elected' have been given a choice to
LOVE as He has shown us how much He Loves us, and so, we are a different breed,
for God has given us the gift of His Holy Faith and thus His 'Golden Rule' -
if we truly Love Him, then we cherish His Ways that He has blessed us with,
and obey them...

The Southern people were Christian. The north had turned to a false social Christianity. The north was so liberal in its Christianity that it was turning to transcendentalism.

The South is not called the Bible Belt for nothing. And the Bible Belt isn't the north.

What I’m saying is that the trauma the soldiers, and others, experienced during the time of the war, has been passed from generation to generation after the war.

Then there was the reconstruction era. That added insult to injury and contributed to the experience of trauma.

I think that’s part of the reason why the war is not really going away. Why would people be talking about a long gone war if it wasn’t some underlying issues present?

Yes, I am sure you are right.

The Reconstruction was a terrible time for our people. Many fail to realize however that it was just a continuation of the War between the States that now turned guerilla warfare. And in the end, the South did win that war driving the yankee carpetbaggers out. And of course when we got control again of our own government, placing the people in power we wanted, then the yankees started leaving. What they left behind was the black people they used against us, and the hatred that it caused.

This is why our 'Reconstruction' is still going on today. It is not us that won't leave it alone. We simply want to remember our history as a people. It is them who want to erase not just our history, but us.

But, the black panthers have nothing in common with the KKK except they both are racist. The KKK was more than racism. Go to any KKK web site that gives what they believe, and tell me the things you agree with and those you don't. Can you be honest in this? The black panthers are against the white people period. The KKK was agaisnt the Fed. govt that was putting them under 12 years of martial law where the Southernor had no rights what so ever. And the Fed. govt. was using the blacks to enforce this upon the Southern white people. Just as they continue to do today with the NAACP.

So, you see how your statement that both the KKK and the black panthers are racist, is an over simplification.

So if Lincoln was a white Supremesist, why did he fight to free the black slaves? If I am not mistaken that is what the Emancipation Proclimation is, is that white people could no longer own slaves and the black people were given the same rights and libertys as the whites.

Revisionist history isn't a threat which is exclusive to the southern states,
and the driving forces behind revisionism aren't black Americans.

The problems run deeper than these sophomoric and racially charged polemics.


Propagating Division?

I truly can't understand why anyone on a Christian forum would choose an avatar of a man like Quantrill -
a figure well documented as a thief and cattle rustler, slave hunter, outlaw, and murderer.

Quantrill is a figure whom, at the very BEST, is controversial, divisive, sometimes criminal, and has absolutely nothing to do with Christ.



Conclusion

1. There are real problems in the world, and in the U.S... agreed.

2. However, we really can't solve problems by completely misidentifying the actual problems, digging our heals into a few symptoms, dividing the body of Christ along arbitrary lines, and then fighting endlessly with everyone in sight.
