Something I have noticed over my life concerning the "love of money" thing.
It seems that when some see a person with a nice home (not a mansion), a nice car or truck, decent clothes, good food, etc, they automatically judge them as loving money and not sharing with others.
Now I do not believe in this prosperity thing preached by these TV con men, but I do believe God does sometimes bless those who He knows will share with resources to do so. And He also bless them with a comfortable life.
So be very careful before you pass judgment on those you see as rich or loving money.

I have admited to my short comings. I use 2/3 of my ssd to help my family who are poor, by american standards and live in a rented house, while I live in a Motorhome in the yard. If a 'bum' asks me for money to eat, and I have time and money i'll take him, or her to dinner. nothimg fancy just plenty to eat. they usually decline but when they accept, I show them them love and compassion.

I live in a 30 ft motor home, all by myself and I have it 1/2 blocked off to save power ac etc. I only have 3, 110 power outlets that work 1 is for my referator.

Have I given to the poor? I am poor!` bob

I do own a house and the land it sets on. Notice I said I own it. Paid for. No mortgage. No payments.

Because I do not pay some else rent, ( you probably do pay rent) I have more to share than you do.
But, see, there's that red flag again ... the 'I have more to give than you do' thing. We're fine right up until that point - remember, Jesus said the old woman's pennies was more than the rich guy's excess. Giving isn't measured in dollars spent. Yes if we can give $100 it will buy more bread for the hungry than 2 cents will, yet Jesus in His best poker face says 2 cents wins the hand. So we have to be careful not to fall into the trap of thinking that just because we can donate more money than some one else, we are giving more in God's eyes.

What you said here -

All Scripture is to be understood in context.
We are tought that we are to provide for our families.
We are taught that one who will not work shall not eat.
We are taught that the poor will always be with us.
We are taught that God will provide, not to worry.
We are taught to share what God provides with those with out.
The key is to balance all He has taught us.
Care for our families so others do not have to. Even when we are no longer here to provide.
There is a big difference in providing what is needed and wasting money on foolish luxuries.

People need to stop polarizing on single scriptures and learn this. We are so hyper-focused these days that most people will only acknowledge one of those points and use it to 'disprove' the others. On ALL the subjects. People have got to learn to snap out of their tunnel vision and take in the big picture. Ours is a big God. He paints a big picture.

All would be fine if we lived in a christian nation. Greed and selfishness has taken over, people send parents off to be taken care of by others and forget who changed their diapers and bathed them when babies. People used to get sick and die at home, they depended upon family to see them over the bumps in the road of life. I think (mind you, I said I) we who call ourselves "Christians" should care and do something for others beside giving 10% to church or chairity. How many of us have changed a diaper or even a sheet for a parent or a grandparent like they did for us, unselfishly? Don't try and blast me with words, you won't change my mind on this stance!

We should care for the sick and dying, visit prisoners and care about the homeless, the queer or junkie with aids and all of the others I don't have the time or space to mention. That's enough I think. Cee ya, bob

The love of money is the root of all evil.
And nothing is in and of itself, evil.
Which means that evil is a thing done with money.

If we observe the evil in the world and discern the path used to bring it to pass we will find Satan.

Ezekiel 28:3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from thee:
Ezekiel 28:4 With thy wisdom and with thine understanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:
Ezekiel 28:5 By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:
Ezekiel 28:6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;
Ezekiel 28:7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness.

Satan was deceived by the love of money.

Ezekiel 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Ezekiel 28:13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
Ezekiel 28:16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

By thy great wisdom and by thy traffick hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches...

By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned...
Satan because of the love of money became and is the MERCHANT.

He traffics in buying and selling all that the world offers. And he is the king of Tyrus. And he is the head of gold over the techno-beast, the metal man that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream, standing at the the end of the world.

And the mark of the beast is his merchantile mark of ownership over all that love the world and/or the things in the world.

So, you can see that Calibob is right on the money.

The love of money equates to the love of the world and the things in it, and is used to draw men away from faith in Jesus. And we must beware, and take heed lest we be deceived.

I think that the church will again be as it was in its love for one another leading to a commonwealth.

Only God knows hearts. But when televangelists (for example) bilk Christians, and then squander God's funds on their own self-indulgent expenses, then that is a clear demonstration of where their heart is.

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

The governance of the globalized world at the time of the end, (NOW) will increase in transgressors till all the positions of government and influence are filled with them.

It is money that Satan uses to achieve that coming result.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2 Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

They receive not the love of the truth but instead they receive the love of money.
And money will pay man for what Satan wants man to do for him.

As I see it , the trouble with our current government in America is there is no accountability for wrong doing. Maybe it is as I've heard. That there is a clause in the constitution that assures law makers and the like are unable to be prosecuted for wrong doing.

And all that compounds itself based on one factor rooted at the inception of this country.Lack of term limits on the Legislative branch. The Judicial could do with that as well.
The most dangerous factor behind a country's leadership is when lawmakers and law interpreters know they can make a career in power over all people and the future. They're god's, and they know it.

It is. And yet, when that behavior makes news, turn on the television shortly after and you'll see their pews are still full.
What a change we'd see if instead those pews were near empty.

I watched a very famous television preacher look into the camera on his show last year and claim Satan had stolen over three million dollars from the ministry.
Then he asked his viewers to help combat the enemies intentions by refurbishing that loss and more.

Likely people did just as he asked. Those type con artists know how to work people into being unthinking givers. Like Oral Roberts demonstrated a long time ago when he blasphemed God in front of a full church. And made millions doing so . Because those watching him on TV and from the pews were too weak or too enamored by his fake tears to actually think on what they were being told was Oral's reason for needing them to give him millions of dollars. God threatened Oral! Oral claimed God told him he'd take him home, which would be Heaven, if Oral didn't come up with 7 million dollars!
He wept while speaking this blasphemy. And the ridiculous part in the broadcast was that you could hear his congregation crying with him.

Oral made far and above his intended goal. It was announced on that same sham show , sermon, that one millionaire from Texas who wanted to remain anonymous had given 1 million dollars to the cause. Moments after Oral gave the cause voice.

God is going to bring me to Heaven if I don't raise millions of dollars so that he'll be satisfied and leave me here.

People sent money to keep Oral out of Heaven.
I think that is why the church is where it is today. As well as on a political level where Devils there are public now , why our country is where it is today. People have eyes but they do not see. They have ears but they do not hear. They have a brain but they do not take time to think.

Trump is a good and godly man in my opinion. However, he only has eight years to heal what has been done for generations.

The constitution isn’t perfect. But socialism is the greatest means of using the love of money to link the masses like a ball and chain to the government.

Socialism is the implementing of the satanic tactic whereby the serpent eats its own tail and thereby constricts the world into a prison.

The serpent encircling the world and eating its own tail signifies what occurs naturally when a society of carnal man developes an appetite for its own flesh. (this also can occur within an individual leading to possession of an imprisoned soul)
The result will be one world under an oligarchy submissive to a benevolent tyrannt.

The trick is to get government to connect the masses to their own appetite. Which is what liberalism strives to accomplish. Once the connection is made the carnal nature of man takes over, and the government tightens down until all will to resist the delusion of the benevolence of government is gone.

Accountability? There very same people who crashed the world's economy in 2008 have been handed the keys to the treasury! There's no accountability for evil, there's reward!

Short lived reward, in the grand scheme of things ...

Question is, how do we get those 9 other dogs to stop voting in more Reagans?
