none of this has anything to do with the ((demonstrated)) fact that every visible planet is either mentioned by name ((Venus, 'the morning star' or 'day star')) or is directly alluded to by the names of pagan gods directly associated ((via an enormous weight of history)) with particular planets ((a.k.a. "wandering stars")).

ergo your claim that "no planets mentioned in scripture" is false.

also your claim that there is no footage of objects leaving the surface, in orbit around the planet, or whizzing by that clearly show a spherical planet below them is false.

and your claim that perspective explains the apparent setting of the sun is false.

and your claim that the Bible says the earth is flat is false.

everything you've said so far is completely false.
lies.

that's all you've got -- and i've shown you several instances of it clearly.

but you keep talking? you're nuts. you've lost it. bonkers. there is something fundamentally not working correctly in your mind. i think we just established that here.

And i hope someone that deluded like me shouldn't stay here to delude others right?
Its still a flat earth biblical approach for me and not nasa fake globe.

And am out of this chat site so need to get angry over this.Because i wont be here to trouble you anymore.

God Bless Keep well.No hard feelings.

Show one that goes according to biblical point of view....
is your google broken?

there's a ridiculous amount of solid evidence showing that people all over the world have been watching the same 5 planets and the same moon flit around in the sky ever since people first looked "up"

you're just silly.

whether or not that is a fact has nothing at all to do with whether pagan peoples had "a Biblical perspective" but you want to see that in the Bible? sure -- it's there, too. Zephaniah 1:5

those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host

guess what that's referring to? here's one of 10,000 examples:

i already sent request to be out of this site.
it's easy. just log out.

or maybe you should make a half a dozen "announcement" threads to let everyone know that you don't want to talk to anyone?

oh, the drama.

no need to hide...

yep.

no need -- but you're going to run away anyhow now, because i showed you the truth, and it turns out you were deceived and spreading deception.

that hurts.

so you're leaving, boo-hoo, because you want to be somewhere where no one tells you the truth, and you can go on with your pretty little deception and be the one who 'blows peoples minds' with this willfully ignorant deception you're still bought into.

off to find some people ignorant of science and math, unable to put two and two together when they look at the sky. off to get some you-tube heroes a few more hits, so they can make easy free money off of your delusion.

hurry! -- no need to hide, but you're running away to hide from reality anyway.

yes Ji, i understand. i'm sorry -- but i do understand. and i'm pretty tired of this particular idiotic conspiracy theory, so forgive me for being blunt with you: and be thankful that i am blunt with you instead of letting you go on believing these lies without contending them.

I have never encountered a flat earther in my entire life.
Neither had I until two weeks ago! My wife was finishing up with our current daycare operator and they got into a conversation about home schooling and the lady said, "You have to question everything these days! Have you heard of the flat earth theory? The earth is flat! The government is hiding it from us, the world is surrounded by a wall of ice and if you keep walking, you walk into darkness!"

My wife didn't know how to respond so she quickly wrapped up and left.

Perhaps there was a good reason as to why I didn't feel quite comfortable leaving my children in her care.

LOL! Good one there!
Hi everyone! First, it seems flat if you do not consider that gravity bends light. Well, signals floow rthe curavture o0f the earth's surface for one reason or another. The truth is, all our mercator maps (our world maps are mercator maps) are inaccurate. The closer you are to the poles, the shorter the distance between longitude lines. That should be the case in reality but not so in your mercator maps. See/ Man's knowledge, as usual is flawed, inconsistent, and well, really unreliable. Just a point here.

Good!

Forget the tennis ball and merry-go-round; use the globe... :D

Please bear with me --- let me ask you one more thing - what is the diameter of your globe?

:)
Hey, did I miss a post from you? Just wanting to touch base.

erm, it's not "
flawed, inconsistent and unreliable" knowledge that makes Mercator projections inaccurate.

it's just the simple fact that a curved 3-D surface can't be laid flat without some distortion.

i hear this one is the most accurate 2-D projection, btw, but i don't really know:

O6lCFWC.jpg

it's not true that "
all" our maps are Mercator projections, by the way. the image above, for example, is not a Mercator projection map. it's a "Waterson projection" :)
Mercator is a man, Gerardus Mercator, a Flemish cartographer, who came up with the mathematical projection that is the most common form of map we see today, in 1569.

Hey, did I miss a post from you? Just wanting to touch base.
"I'm still here --- somewhere..."

The short answer is that I have been working waaaaaaaaaay too many hours...

I have been working 10 - and 12 - and 15 - hour days -- over the past several weeks.

Also, I generally spend a lot more time on CC reading posts than I do writing them. And, it sometimes takes me a good bit of time to write a post ( if there is any length - or 'depth' - to it ). For the past month or so, I am fairly sure that the time I have spent [ even ] reading them is a lot less than in the weeks previous to that.

After clicking 'Reply With Quote' -- and then sleeping in my chair for over four hours before even typing the first word -- and then taking [ 30 minutes? ] to type the post -- upon finishing the post, I went to add a smiley ( the one you see on the first line of this post ) - and lost the whole thing... ( Grrrrr  )

So -- these words are from 'the second time around'.

There is a bit more to what I had intended to say than posthuman is assuming -- there are some "other" things I would like to illustrate and point out -- rather than [ just simply ] "WOW" you with the [ supposed ] size and distance of the sun...

I will try to get some of that into my next post.

:)

The Bible indicates that [ one day ] the stars will fall [ to the earth ].

( Matthew 24:29; Mark 13:25 )

Keep that in mind as you thought-maneuver through this example:

( based on the globe model )

On a scale -- whereby, the Earth is the size of a [ ball-type ] pin head ( less than 1/16 of an inch in diameter ) -- the sun is a six-inch-diameter ball ~62 feet away. The nearest "star" ( and, keep in mind that it is a "dwarf star" - one of the smaller ones ) - on that same scale - is about the distance from the Gulf of Mexico to the nearest point in Alaska ( from the Sun and Earth ) - and, the diameter of which is about that of a nickel.

"It's gonna get real crowded on Earth when those stars start falling..." ;)

me too. post is very busy until December.
then i get almost a month off :)

i dunno what your commute time is, but part of my 15 hours some days involves driving 3 or 4 hours one way to get to a job site, audit for 6 to 8 hours, then drive back.

be careful, and make sure you get sleep.

so basically your argument is that stars must be small because they will fall to the earth?

has it occurred to you that this is figurative? read the second half of the verse: "and the powers in the heavens will be shaken"

angels are frequently referred to as stars.
meteorites are frequently called "falling stars" - as would a comet or large asteroid be.

it's a shaky interpretation at best, but even if it were so -- Peter says the heavens will disappear with a roar and all the elements will be dissolved ((2 Peter 3:10, as Isaiah 34:4 & Revelation 6:10)) -- itty bitty light bulbs falling from a glass ceiling aren't going to do that.

i don't really comprehend why you have a problem with the magnitude and power and grandeur and scope of God's creation, that you are more comfortable imagining the whole universe is actually quite small and traversable, and that mankind are the center of it.
((well, i have my suspicions))

is the Almighty not great? is mankind not like dust, so very small?
you probably skipped the extra-size post i made, but this goes back once again to this simple question:

does this passage make sense in a very small universe in which mankind is the absolute center and focus and pinnacle of all that exists?

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

(Psalm 8:3-4)

"
snowglobe universe" makes it sound like the psalmist is being sarcastic.
but if in the vastness of the cosmos the earth herself is only a speck and mankind like an eczema on her skin, then this scripture is profoundly true.
"
snowglobe universe" honors man, and cheapens the greatness of God.

Ever see a sunrise on the beach? If earth was flat would't it just pop up all at once?

Seeing both the sun and moon at the same time. The moon is crescent most times. I also like the golden gate bridge with its flat water underneath it. And a simple one, balloons.
