Ah, thanks so much! Yes, I made a compass a few days ago. I've mined heaps of red stone, but I'm struggling to find sugar cane. Thanks also for the tips concerning the spawn blocks. And carrying a bed with you wherever you go, that's a brilliant idea! :)
I never got to making my own compass... I didn't have that much patience lol. I either, which you already know, cheated, or bought them from villagers (took forever, still). Oh a bed and torch (coal and sticks) everywhere. And sugar cane, usually near the ocean, or ponds even.

Alright, have fun. I'm about to meet Bethel Music and I'm stoked, I think I mentioned that like a hundred times now.

Thank you! Will do. Oh, man. This is also a noob moment, but I've never seen villagers in Survival mode (well, except for undead villagers). Yes, go and enjoy your time with Bethel. I pray that you have an awesome time!

I struggle with addiction to gaming as even offline the game would consume my thoughts. I tried doing self-imposed parental controls and limitations, but they didn't work for me. I finally had to conclude this is not the answer for me and am turning away from them to seek Christ fully in my life.

Dude, Final Fantasy II (USA) best story line ever! :) The one with Cecil for SNES...before using the option to personalize all the characters names. ;) After FF 7 is where I made my move to stop playing FF games not due to distaste, but time.

I'm going kinda old-school here, but here goes:

Combat (Atari)
Jungle Hunt (Atari)
Cosmic Ark (Atari)
Super Mario Bros (Nintendo, henceforth NES)
Super Mario Bros 2 (NES)
Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
Super Mario World (SNES)
Missile Command (Atari)
Fireball (Atari)
Space Invaders (Atari)
Super Metroid (Super Nintendo, henceforth SNES)
Wing Commander: The Secret Missions (Super NES)
Phalanx (Super NES)
Contra (NES)
Dr. Mario (NES and SNES)
Tetris Attack (SNES)
Kudos on the Super Metroid, but no mention of Zelda for SNes? :p

I mean it's not the best game ever, but it's very creative and basically just a light RPG version of LEGO.

Oh it allows the user to be creative. Its very popular. Its simply to basic for me. If I want to create in that way I would bust a move on the legos. To sum me and video games....when Halo first came out on Xbox...yes...yes that long ago. I was the chick who had little sleep until I conquered it. Speaking of that can't wait for Guardians!

Ah, fair enough. Honestly, I never understood the hype over Halo. But I'm glad you enjoyed them. My favourite games include the Age of Empires series, the Thief stealth series and Psychonauts. Yes, they're all reasonably old school, but I find older games generally favour gameplay and story over fancy graphics.

What gaming consoles do you all prefer?

I grew up with PlayStation 1 and 2, I have a 3 now and my brother has a 4. I've never owned an Xbox or Wii. Did have a Super Nintendo though.

Which gaming consoles do I prefer? Super Nintendo, back in the day. The Sega Saturn was also a favourite. And the Nintendo 64 had really good mileage (I still have the one I bough second-hand many years ago). I've played a bit on the newer/new consoles and I can't quite get the hang of the controls.

Lol now I feel like a real game addict. I have played almost every title on this topic excepting for the newer stuff seeing as the new consoles are like the cost of a car and the nes games cause that was before my time. Have played some Atari games but not those ones. Sold most my games and consoles though. Just got the 360 and skyrim, oblivion, and fable2 left besides computer games like minecraft. Lol though for computer I come to this site more than I game. Lol ya'll more interesting by far. Was playing Oblivion a bit, but haven't picked up the sticks for a bit over a month. Just not in the mood I guess. Figure I will keep it around or sell it and get a ps2 at least for the winter since if anyone knows winter in Ohio, it's cold and boring.

I do kinda regret selling the playstation, not for the actual giving it away, especially since I gave it to a friend who needed it since his ps3 got stolen. Main reason is the ps2 is very economical these days. Can just go to the used cd place, get a ps2 or ps1 game for like 1-20 bucks, play it as long as you want, and then just sell it back to them for a few bucks. Basically can rent games with no due date for just about the actual cost or even cheaper than most rental places.

Heh I will go with PS2 (considering it can play psx games too). Did like the SNES a lot though, first console I got. Mine actually broke last year, and sold all my games pretty recently, except Clayfighter which I found the other day lol. Places actually buy SNES games for a good amount of cash. I had somewhere around 10-15 SNES games and got a bit over 70 bucks for them.

I am a Nintendo nerd :p My favorite games ever are pretty much all for N64, Gamecube and Wii, so those are my favorite systems ever :p I also really liked the NES and SNES, of course :p But I have more history with the other 3.

Ive had a PS2, PS3 and 360, and they were okay, but I really didnt like them as much as my Nintendo consoles. The playstations were cool, though. And my 360, haha honestly I really only had one single game for it that I couldnt get for PS3, so it kinda felt pointless for me to even own :p
Oh it did have Tales of Vesperia, and thats literally the entire reason I bought it haha :p

I like handhelds on occasion, but I dont play them as much. But Ive had a GBA SP, DS and 3DS, Ive had a few games for them I really liked too.

Im afraid Im gonna have to disagree with you, there. Tales of Symphonia for gamecube has the best story for a video game ever :p

Also, it has the most interesting and relatable villain ever, hes not just some crazy "Im gonna take over/ destroy the world" kinda guy :p He actually has a good reason for doing whats hes doing.
(its not based on "changing the world" either :p)

I've had NES, SNES, Playstation, Game Boy Color, PS2, and XBox 360. I don't have any of them anymore lol.

I just play on my phone and computer. I know I've said I play Star Wars online, but I've also played IMVU, sports simulators like Football Mogul, and I like a good text-based game from the 80s on occasion ^.^. I also had a short, but misguided run on Dungeons and Dragons Online(it was boring lol).

My most favorite games ever would probably be:

1. Anything from the Madden series(before 2013)
2. Super Mario All-Stars
3. Final Fantasy 7
4. Gex: Enter the Gecko
5. Zork
