My first car I bought off of a young couple that was getting married it was a 1965 yellow Mustang convertible with a black top. It had been wrecked back left area and tail light knocked out. They had taken the insurance money to put toward their wedding and sold the car to me for $250.00. I went to a mom and pop bank and got a loan for 1 year my payments were $25.00 a month for that year.

Cheapest, cutest, most fun transportation I have ever owned in my life. There is nothing like being young and driving with the top down and wind blowing through your hair. My long blond hair.... I used to collect glass pop bottles off the side of the roads turn them in for the 5 cent deposit and once I collected $3.00 worth I could fill up the tank and go from Louisville, KY to Muncie, IN and visit my family - I did this more than once.... And now this story makes me sound like I am really, really old...lol I really loved that car....wrecked and all.....
That old car was a classic. You obviously have a love for travel and adventure. You may be going places.

I at one time did own a Gremlin it was not my first car, but it was the cutest powder blue exterior with a gold stripe paint job that had Levi denim seats with studs. It was such a cute car looked like someone kicked it in the butt though - long nose short backend. lol
I had the exact same car and color with the Levi denim seats with studs. I drove it from Michigan to Florida. I had to do an emergency brake repair in Kissimmee outside of Orlando. The next day thick clouds of black smoke started pouring out of what was left of the exhaust system as the muffler fell off in Lexington, KY on the way down. I was homeless and living in that car until the engine seized up.

Wonder if you bought my car after I traded it in? Wouldn't that be a hoot... I mean really how many powder blue Levi seat covered Gremlins did they make? lol

Maybe that was your phone number that was written on a crumpled up piece of paper stuck in the seat. I really should have called that number.

Here is a photo of my first vehicle (in fact, I'm still using it).

A 1986 Toronto TTC Red Rocket Bus (it even comes with its own driver!!!).
