People don’t understand what they’re being saved from is part of the issue. They are saved from God’s wrath. The Bible is careful to never actually say that all saved people go to heaven, or Abraham’s bosom, paradise, etc.

The New Testament keeps saying “believe this and you get eternal life!” Sounds good right, but where do you get eternal life at?

Don't quote specific people like about where the thief on the cross got eternal life, or where the rich man and Lazarus got eternal life, or where the apostles got eternal life, or where Jesus is, etc.

I want to know where you’re going for eternity and how you know that based on which scripture.
I'm not going anywhere. I am already seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Heaven is my home, not my destination. Ephesians 2:6. I'm amazed that you know so little of God's word.

John 1:12
John 3:16-18
Romans 10:9
John 17:1-3
Colossians 3:3
2 Timothy 2:11

Need I go on?

We know that we must be born again....so what does it mean to be/how do we know if we have been, born again'?
If a person doesn't know they have been born again, then most likely they aren't.

I said "I want to know where you’re going for eternity and how you know that based on which scripture." You failed to quote a verse that shows where your destination is. You tell me I don't know the Bible, which is ironic, since you didn't even quote a verse about your eternal home. As a Christian, you should know this. I am utterly amazed at you for not quoting a single verse about where you're going.

John 1:12
Doesn't say where you're going.

John 3:16-18
Doesn't say where you're going.

Romans 10:9
Doesn't say where you're going.

John 17:1-3
Doesn't say where you're going.

Colossians 3:3
Doesn't say where you're going.

2 Timothy 2:11
Doesn't say where you're going.

Need I go on?
Yes. Show me a verse that says where you will spend eternal life at.

The issue here is about those who believe in Him and then stop believing in Him. Some people believe a person cannot stop believing, while others believe they can stop/lose faith after believing. God even puts those who are faithful and born again to test, now why would He do that if people cannot stop believing? What is the point of testing the faithful, like Job, then?

Some Christians do quit walking with God, for whatever reason. That does not mean they are going to hell. It does mean that they miss out on God's best, they miss out on eternal blessings and they suffer great loss in this life too.
This, I am not too sure about. I mean, I certainly wish people who are far from perfect or who have faith issues/questions go to Heaven. However, I have heard teachings such as if you don't bear the cross, you won't go to Heaven, etc.

a lot of people put the cart before the horse

but, Jesus came for the sinners, not the righteous

why would He save those who already think they are righteous?!

No, you need to confess and admit to God you are a sinner in need of salvation, and actually name the sin, dont deny or hide from God whatever that sin is.
Jesus is the one who will set you free and deliver you. Its when you die to your self. A lot of people arent willing to put sin to death and believe Jesus DIED for them ...they someohow believe Jesus just magically erases sin with no great sacrifice on His part.

uh no there was a lot of BLOOD in the crucifixtion

and then wonder why, ok I believe Jesus is the son of God so why arent I magically fixed and sin free now. Well no theres actually a little bit more to believe than that.

Maybe. I suspect though, not all will understand that a spiritual birth has happened to them.

I guess also there's the possibility that there are some that believe they've had their spirit brought to life, yet maybe haven't.

I'm assuming that only time, and the evidence of their character and nature being turned into a Christ-like one, will be the confirmation of their conversion!

Clean animals are those that chew the cud and have a divided hoof, such as cattle, deer, goats,
and sheep; seafood with both fins and scales, such as bluegill, grouper, and cod; certain birds,
including chickens, doves, and ducks; and even some insects, such as grasshoppers and locusts.

How is fur a deciding factor?
Now it no longer matters. Even the wonderful baby puppy is a clean animal.

1 John 1:8-10~ If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out
to be a liar, and His Word is not in us.
:)
The redhead made the point.

I wish I could be sinless.
That's good, it means your Christian.

In response to the OP without watching the heretical video:

The Bible says that ‘If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us’ (1 John 1:8). It speaks of the fact that until the resurrection we must be at war with sinful desires (Galatians 5:16-17). Sin is not an enemy ‘out there’. It’s an enemy within that lives and feeds off our fallen human desires and weaknesses (James 1:13-15). That is why sinless perfectionism is not only untrue but also dangerous. People don’t tend to win battles that they don’t even realize they are supposed to be fighting.

The sinless perfectionists are few because the Bible itself so clearly debunks the doctrine, but the opposite - complacency about our own son - is just as dangerous.

So this responds to your desire:

God’s will for our lives is that we be holy (1 Thessalonians 4:3). We can't forget that what Christians look forward to above all else is Jesus returning to take away our sin completely. We that anyone who truly desires that day to come will be obsessed with living a holy life now (1 John 3:2-3).

Jesus taught that Christians would ‘hunger and thirst’ after righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Imagine a man who has been deprived of food and water for far too long. Hunger and thirst are not just a thought in his head, but all-encompassing desires that cannot be ignored. His whole body cries out for sustenance! He will never – can never – be satisfied until his desire is satiated. Is our hunger for righteousness like that? That’s what perfectionism (at its best) gets right. It desires to be without sin. That is a profoundly godly ambition, and one that all Christians should share. We recognize that we will inevitably fall short. But we are not happy about it.

Come Lord Jesus!

As far as 'Those who stop believing in Him'... 1 John 2:19 (KJV) They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Then we have...

(Php 1:6) I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

(2Ti 2:19) Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, bearing this inscription: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord turn away from wickedness.

God's testing is to purify his own...

1 Peter 4:12-13 (KJV) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Living in the realm of 'maybes' and 'possiblys' is a very tenuous position.
Saving faith involves certainty...

2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV) For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Yes, growth takes time.

The desire to be without sin is good thing
the ability to do something about it is where Jesus comes in to put sin to death
But that requires a bit of cooperation on our part, to lay that sin down

ok so, say my sin was drinking too much alcohol and getting drunk(easy to do, it just takes a glass or two!)
do I then blame everyone else around me for drinking, or do I take responsibilty and say no when I'm in that situation, or even better not walk myself onto a tempting situation in the first place.

and then, do I choose alternatives to drinking that will improve my life rather than numb it? Scripture says I will hunger and THIRST for righteousness (not, I will hunger and thirst for wine and beer or vodka)

as for demons, ok, it might be the above doesnt 'work' cos you have a little voice in your head thats always telling you 'one for the road' 'oh go on' 'drink to forget your troubles' or whatver, and you cant turn it off or ignore it.
Sure thats going to drive you nuts isnt it? Thats when you need delieverance to cast that pesky demon out.

I think a person can be self deceived into believing they are born again when they are not. I don't want to be self deceived.

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

I'll pass on the video. I will waste time playing video games, reading comic strips and even puttering around on this forum, but I will not waste time watching something when I already know it's wrong.

Nothing personal. It's just that there are far too many wrong people in the world, and I don't have time to listen to all of them.
I don't have time to listen to any of them.

You don't need to feel like participating in this conversation. There are maybe too many voices in this thread anyways.
Yeah, well... Nobody could have foreseen this would happen when the thread started. No blame there.
