Dude, that is so awesome that you automatically assume she is not a real Christian. :cautious:
There were signs, words that needed questioning. That's what I have done, not to vilify her or anyone else, but to get people to think.

There's a blue million different versions of Baptist. There's almost as many different kinds of Baptist churches as there are breeds of dogs. And while some of them may be glorified social clubs, you'll be surprised how many good ole Baptist folks you'll see in Heaven.

That's like if you said us Pentecostals aren't real Christians, because you know of a church down the road that has a few holes in their doctrinal beliefs and Pentecostal over the door.

What is your house brand of religion? I bet I can find a pretty sketchy church under that name too.

Jesus gave me membership to His church, I've remained loyal to Jesus by staying with that.

What does your pastor think about such a view? And have you consulted your pastor about your understanding of what the Bible says about divorce, just to make sure someone else agrees that you've got it right?

Does that mean you are one of those lone wolf guys who considers all incorporated churches as tools of the devil to lead good Christians astray?

I work for Jesus direct Cinder, He has taught me. I have no need to consult an Elder. However, if I new of an Elder that had been appointed by God then I would be pleased to fellowship with him.

There's no more benefit for belonging to a denomination then there is to being someone that belongs to the world. There is but one true church of God, it's the new Israel comprising everyone that has had their spirit brought to life by God. Members of that church take up their cross daily and follow Jesus.

So you're advising the OP to do something that you yourself don't do. Interesting. I make it a point to never take advice that the giver doesn't follow themselves.

And as a wise man once pointed out that the only time we see one of the 12 apostles going and doing something alone in scripture is when Judas went to betray Jesus. I'm rather skeptical of the people who think they're so holy and acceptable to God that they no longer need to be plugged in to and have some accountability to a local fellowship.

He, Himself, appointed/set aside men as gifts to the church, some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors/elders/overseers, and teachers.

Judas wasn't an apostle, he was a disciple. Paul initially went off and preached by himself. Not sure who the wise man is you're referring to, but if he said what you said he said, then he wouldn't be someone I would be sending anyone to for counsel.

Being a Baptist doesn't make anyone a Christian.

Being born again, ie our spirit being brought alive by God is essential to becoming a Christian. Then, following Jesus' example in life, ie obeying God in everything, is essential to being a Christian. We all need to self assess to see if that is our case.

Sadly many of us have been born into a particular denominational faith and have been taught scripture, and have adhered to our denomination's peculiar religious observances and bias, and because of that we believe we can call ourselves Christian. This is a deception by the evil one.

In my opinion your hope for remarriage lies in the hope that you may yet to be born again by God, and of course it's only He that can do that to you, no man can will it on you. At the time we are born again, we are set free from the past ungodly ways that ensnared us, and what would have been the eternal consequences of those sins. Our life is born anew.
Your beliefs may be different than mine. And that’s okay. But I am born again and I believe I did nothing wrong leaving an ABUSIVE husband

Hmmm, I did too. Sorry. Thanks for letting me know.
No apology necessary. I thought it best to see it corrected, though, lest any misunderstanding ensue ;):D

You are welcome :)

If he was an atheist, and you a Christian, then why did you have a relationship with him? We are supposed to be unequally yoked!

There's some serious questions about the strength of your own Christianity that needs to be raised here, and also questions asked about your eligibility and suitability for remarriage. I think you're better off questioning that with your pastor and his wife, and/or discussed with a mature Christian lady whose opinion you will respect and heed. They will know where you are at, and help you along the road to recovery and on. It's probably not best to discuss such issues in an open forum where people's opinions can be discoloured by their own experiences.
.... I meant to say 'we are supposed to be not unequally yoked', sorry.

The benefit of belonging to a local fellowship that meets together for worship, prayer, communion, meals, teaching, reaching the lost in their community, (besides all those) is that it is the path God ordained for our own individual revelation of Jesus Christ.

The benefit is that we will know Jesus more. He ordained it so that we must gather like this in order to receive from other members of the Body of Christ who is the fulness of Him that fills all in all. The eye needs the foot, etc... That is the benefit.

Maturity in the scriptures is a corporate concept. We must grow up into His image corporately or we are not growing up at all.

My keyboard hates me 😳🙄😁
Seriously though M, I don't think I have the necessary dexterity to use the virtual keyboard on this ipad. I'm making heaps of mistakes. I've tried swiping but still not good. It is so frustrating. 🥴

Yes. But doesn't scripture say 'we will no longer need to teach each other'.

Also, does it not say that for anyone led by the Holy Spirit, there is no set pattern to their coming and going.

Also, does it not say that we are to test everything? Whenever I visited an assembly, after a while I used to apply this test. I used to ask myself this question...'if I died and left a family behind, would I feel confident that assembly would properly care for my surviving family, and provide support for my spouse including help for her to bring my children up in the unsullied ways of the Lord', and I always ended up with a 'no' answer. Sorry.

Why don't you think your resurrected soul can guide your family if no one else can?
You're too serious.
If you think it won't work, why don't you trust in God who will prepare and guide your family.
