We like microwave meals....everyone eats them and expects them anymore.

But character building and behavior modification stemming from attitude changes takes time...a LOT of time.

Marriage requires an extensive amount of giving and selflessness and grace. We all have expectations for receiving such things from a spouse but most single people don't focus on giving them....which is a chief reason why they are still single. And a person often wonders which the single adults want more.

Single parent families are still trending up in demographics. Not because of war, plagues, or famine...but simply because of attitudes and actions. One can only surmise that the problem is systemic within our cultures. There is a cure...but it's much more acutely painful than the disease.

I'm 44 and also still waiting. Not spending much energy looking though. There's too much other life to be lived. If it happens, it will happen.
I think you know what you wantā€¦and your heart would know if itā€™s finally home as they say it šŸ„°

There's a song that has a lyric... "What if the cure is worse than the disease?":D

Dracula Moon by Joan Osborne, from her CD "relish"

Hey punk, you steppin' on my turf? It's MY job to mention songs relevant to the conversation. :p

(Kidding of course - partly because it's not in fact my turf, but mostly because that song is not in my collection so I never would have thought of it.)
