So years ago, when I was a teen and not really walking with the Lord, I was a big country music fan. This song just came back to mind reading this thread:
Ugh! I like that song but not Garth. Now I'm all mixed up with emotions. 🤣

Actually, everytime I hear that song I think of the circumstances in the OP.

:ROFL:yeah I hear ya, lol.
NOW I'm thinking back to my "Unanswered prayers" lol. Come on Lord! I KNOW there's been things in my life OTHER THAN relationships that never happened...… just not recalling them now:unsure:

Hi Krumbeard:) yes God has not answered my prayers quite a few times where later on I have been thankful that he hasn't.
I remember once I was not happy in my job and applied for another one I thought was alot better. I prayed that I would get it. I went for an interview for it and was full of faith. I didn't get it and was quite upset with God. I asked him why I didn't get it, after all I was unhappy in the job I was in. I asked him if he could tell me why because my faith in him was shaken and I didn't want to feel that way towards him.
A couple of days later I was at a friends house and a car pulled up and a woman came to the door. She was friends with my friend and happened to work in the company and section of the job I applied for. She burst out crying saying that the company had changed management and the staff were very unhappy and stressed. She ended up becoming very sick over it and resigned. She and others suffered alot. When I heard that I was very thankful that God had not answered that prayer and aplogised to him on my knees.
okay, this got me thinking and now I DO remember something other than relationship "NO's"
Have you ever BEGGED God to pee!? I have! I mean B-E-G-G-E-D
I laugh about it now:LOL::LOL::LOL: but at the time, it was NOT funny!
A lady from my church worked at the local newspaper office and I had a job there all lined up, all I had to do was pass the drug test. And since I don't/didn't do drugs I thought EASY! Piece of 1561628301285.png .
BOY WAS I WRONG!
All I had to do was pee in a cup!!! Had to go downtown to the clinic where they did this testing and boy for whatever reason I COULD NOT PEE! IT HURT! I mean I had drank SO MUCH WATER that day. My bladder was going to explode! And it didn't help that the lady administering this "test" was not very sympathetic. She wouldn't let me take a magazine or anything in the little tiny "bathroom" (more like a closet with a toilet). I told her upfront it was for a job screening, but she treated me like I was some random busted druggy.
SO I was in this tiny room trying to pee and about the time all my muscles relaxed and was literally just got a drop started, there's this
BANG on the door. She's telling me to hurry it up or they would just toss it out! Well that just made me clam up!
She tells me "well you can wait in the supervised waiting area and try again in 20 minutes." Why not, I had nothing to hide, really needed the job and really NEEDED to PEE!

Now 20 minutes goes by and I'm thinking 'GREAT! I HAVE to pee! This otta be easy now!"
Same problem. Got in there and could not pee!
"LORD! Why can't I pee1?? PLEASE HELP ME PEE NOW!"
NO ANSWER......
The lady told me that the company I was doing this for ONLY did the test via pee test. I could try again in a few weeks or go to another location (almost 2 hours away) but that was my only option for the test.
I left that office and had to pee so bad I tried the bathroom in the hallway on my way out the building...… NOTHING happened!
I hurt so bad driving home. I had never hurt like that before. My bladder felt like it was going to EXPLODE! I couldn't even walk. I don't know how I made it from the car to the house. I opened the front door and was on my hands and knees CRAWLING to the bathroom. My folks were freaked out b/c they had no idea why I was crawling in the door curled up. They started laughing when I cried "I HAVE TO PEEEEEEEEEE" (as far as they knew, I just went to an office to do that, lol)
I got on the potty so glad this was about to end! Mom followed to make sure I was ok, I'm trying so hard to pee! Told her what happened & she left me alone.
Now I'm all alone. Just me and the Lord and I'm in tears! Rocking back and forth b/c the pain is SO INTENSE!
CRYING! "Okay Lord! If this isn't he job for me, I'll accept that and trust You! And keep looking........"
All of a sudden..... PEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
:LOL::LOL::LOL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:
I didn't know to laugh or cry or what! YOU MEAN ALL I HAD TO DO WAS SURRENDER MY WILL TO HIS!!!!!!!???????
I called the office to let them know I would not accept the job (which was to start the next day!)
I ended up working at a wonderful small Christian ran company and had the time of my life there!
About 6 months later the lady from church told me that the supervisor of the position I was trying to get was under investigation.
The reason....
attempted rape on the girl who ended up getting it!!!!!!!!

Godsgirl you always write interesting stories. At first I had to reread the first two lines asking myself, Did she really say "pee" or was that a typing error. As I read further I realised she indeed said "pee" and upon further reading the whole thing made sense.
That is fantastic that you did not get that job with a supervisor like that. God always knows best!! (y)

Sorry you went through all that just so you wouldn't get the job, but I'm glad for you that you didn't get the job. I guess that's mixed emotions.

And ya know what..... ALL THAT COULD HAVE been avoided, lol! If I had ONLY prayed about it first!. Instead of just assuming that because all was fine up until then so IT MUST be meant for me.
(oh yeah and BTW even through 3 pregnancies, I NEVER had to pee THAT bad, lol)
