The temperature is dropping outside, but rising in here. 82 degrees is unacceptable, I start melting at 73. It doesn't help that the oven was on for an hour- my father-in-law made lasagna for us tonight. Which is nice! But also...too hot in here. I should go outside. And play in the sprinkler. With the mosquitoes and chickens.

My first bike trip to w*rk... and halfway home I have a flat. Really? On my FIRST TRIP I have a flat?!

Lesson learned: Never take any trip on a bike without a spare inner tube and a mini-pump. And change out all current inner tubes for those extra thick ones that have that goo stuff in them.

toinena: What IS it with you and fixation on bikinis? I was talking about bicycles. Bikes. Two-wheeled, rider-powered conveyances. I rode one to w*rk today and rode it a bit more than halfway home before the rear tire went flat. No bikinis were involved.

I used to always carry a flat repair kit in my little underseat bag... and I got very fast at fixing flats too! The only problem with those run-flat tires is that they are heavier so they require more pedal effort. At least that's how they were when I used to ride which was like two decades ago... Maybe now they're not heavier... IDK. :sneaky:

What a relief!

I can't prove anything, but...I think...my chickens were playing soccer last night. All I know is, when I went outside to play in the sprinkler, the kids' soccer ball was on one side of the yard. And when I went back out later to close the chickens in for the night, the soccer ball was on the other side of the yard.

I told my husband my theory, and he said, "Soccer? Like on teams?"

I said I wasn't sure, there are only eight of them, how many chickens make up a full soccer team?

He didn't know. Nobody knows how many chickens are on a chicken soccer team. He said, "Maybe they were playing rugby."

"That...makes a lot of sense." I replied.

Productivity today is all over the place.

I've halfway finished at least three things (laundry, grocery list, uhh...surely there's something else), and I've completed two assignments for work, and everyone has been fed. But also, I Googled The Office memes, and was sidetracked for a good (hilarious) hour, I've forgotten to make an important phone call, and I'm reading about lasagna gardening.

Meanwhile, I'm ignoring the caterpillar trying to make its home just inside my screen door, nobody's washed the dishes from last night's lasagna mess, and I'm procrastinating on vacuuming in here because the vacuum needs emptied, but I can't empty it until I take out the trash, and in order to take out the trash, I have to get everyone to put their shoes away, and that's just a fight I'm not willing to start right now when everyone is so peacefully minding their own business around here.

Well, it’s after lunch, and I want a nap.

My office is freezing though! Good thing I have my blanket on here.

Maybe I just need another cup of coffee.

I'm going to vent. My Son graduates from the 6th grade tonight. Not from an Ivy League University, not from Astronaut school, not even from high school. 6th grade, so I'm thinking because we get no notice from the school, I'm thinking, nice Polo shirt, nice pair of pants, he has in good shape black sneakers.

YESTERDAY not a month ago we get this letter regarding the required dress. Ok Polo shirt ok, everything seemed fine. Well today his health teacher tells them they shouldn't wear sneakers. He tried a pair of husband's shoes on, to big. I don't have time or money to buy dress shoes for a grammar school graduation.

This school pulls this stuff all the time. My daughter has one year left. Will be glad when I m done with it
